What are your favorite Acacia Strain songs pre-2020 and why
My fav albums by them are Soul Decay (2020) and You Are Safe From God Here (2025). I want to explore and appreciate their older music more. Inspire me!

I need help understanding why I have such an intense negative emotional response leading towards a meltdown when I upset people at work.
I have come a really long way. I am an almost completely recovered people pleaser. I no longer live to please others, especially not in my personal life. At work I wish to get by with the least friction possible - not to please but so that I can do the minimum and leave, since I find the stimulus confusing and difficult to handle (such as sounds, lights and socialising). I care a lot about having a good standing as it is directly tied to my livelihood. I am not wealthy and I have debts so my income is important to me.
When I fumble a social interaction with superiors, it's almost as if I am overwhelmed with embarassment but also very triggered. I feel deeply sadened and afraid. I notice that I feel stuck, with no choice in the matter. If I explain myself, it will sound like I am being even more insubordinate and as if I was arguing futher. So I feel like the best thing I can do is agree and apologize. But it sends major emotional shock waves through my system and can take me an hour or two to stop crying, and often a day or two to recover completely. Logically I know that people sometimes take things way too personally or want to have ego trips, and I don't always flatter people's desire to feel important because it doesn't make sense to me. But this makes me feel deeply unsafe when someone is angry with me for not doing that, especially since I already am so vigilant about not saying the wrong thing.
Is there something I can do to manage my emotions better? Or am I simply having a valid response to my environment as an autistic person. Is my only option accomodations?
Watching for fun but I'm looking forward to seeing Suicide Silence. Jinjer is also on right before.
If you're wondering it's being streamed on Amazon, not sure if it's available somewhere else.
Here's a link to the lineup and times on both channels:

I think yall will dig it esp if you're yearning for the olden days. Would love if you could take a listen and tell me what you think 🙂 Montreal based and produced with limited resources. The next generation is here!!! Cheers!
What was it like to be a deathcore fan when the genre was forming?
In those years I was in my teens but I unfortunately wasn't really listening to deathcore and wasn't aware of what was going on cause I was extremely sheltered, haha I totally missed out.
Another thing I wonder is who remembers the first time the genre name dropped? How did you hear about it? What was it like hearing it for the first time? I read that the name was sort of naturally and progressively coined.
The following OG deathcore bands dropped their genre-defining first albums in the following years:
Despised Icon 2005
Job for a cowboy 2005
Bring me the horizon 2006
Whitechapel 2006
All Shall perish 2006
Suicide silence 2008
Chelsey Grin 2008
What was it like hearing their first albums for the first time when they were coming out?
I would love to hear any anecdotes of what it was like to be active in the scene in those years.
I am a big fan today and I often wonder what it would have been like to be at one of those shows or hear what people were excited about like we discuss on here.
I wish there was such thing as opioids that weren't bad for us or addictive that I could take to relax and take a break from life. I am not a big fan of how weed feels for me, and I hate alcohol. In any case, I wouldn't want to be addicted to anything. I just want to be numbed to take a break, and not have to always work on mindfulness. Closest I can get is predictable TV, but nothing is cutting it for me anymore.
It's funny because this is actually good for me, but I have actually gotten super into hiking and the gym as a way to 'switch off'. It's been 1 year I have been working out and the last 4 months with a personal trainer, and I am super proud of myself and my progress. I have been discovering difficult level trails and beautiful places across Quebec where I live.
But again, I have to work for this, like as if I am running away from discomfort. I wish I could just lay there and be numb. Closest I have come to feeling satisfied with drugs was taking Tramadol which I have for my endometriosis pain when it gets really bad, but I need to be super careful and save it for when I really need it. But damn! It feels sooooo good...
Don't worry I won't get myself into any trouble, I just WISH there was such thing.
Grey's anatomy is one of my favorite series because it is extremely predictable and formulaic as well as a good tear jerker, all of which helps me to turn my mind off and regulate. Since this is related to autism I was wondering if any of you can recommend shows that you feel have a similar predictable formula and ideally with many seasons that you think I would enjoy. I often want to watch it but I want something new. I don't really mind what the subject is but I do have a particular affinity for space sci fi (although I feel like I have seen everything space sci fi related haha). Thanks!
I never really listened to them or know anything about them. I just know they've been around forever and I should probably add them to my repertoire esp considering I will be seeing them in august. I listened to a couple recent songs and I was surprised. If you're a fan what do you recommend I listen to and what should I know about them? cheers
I think there should only be one name for places: whatever the locals or indigenous people call the place. It doesn't make any sense to me that there would be a completely different name in a different language, that seems very entitled to me. This has always made it hard for me to remember country names as a multilingal person. We don't do this for people, and tbh when we do it for asian names 'translated' to english I find that sad and uncessary. Why should it make sense for countries and cities. We should just learn how to say the name. I get pronounciation differences but a totally different word? ...
From time to time I will meet someone autistic or have a certain experience that helps me to more easily perceive how we are in the world and I get this understanding that it must be really easy to take advantage of us. Not because we lack discernment or intelligence or boundaries, but because we just don't think the same way and we go about things from a different place.
For instance if I always assume people mean what they say, and they establish with me that is what they're doing, they could be pretending and I might not be able to tell. I don't think that's the best example but another way to put this, for lack of a better term, is that we are naive. I don't think it's a bad thing even though that word has a negative connotation - I just think it puts us at risk.
No matter how hard I work at being less naive I realize I am still very naive and constantly learning by making social mistakes.
I wanted to know what everyone thought about this and if you had a better way of explaining this phenomenon. I find it hard to perceive, but it explains a lot of my social issues when I can grasp it. Is it easier for some of you to grasp? For me it feels very difficult to imagine.
I am just a girl, who's fav bands are Angelmaker and Shadow of Intent, trying to keep it together while Casey and Ben perform the end of Flying the Black Flag together on stage in front of me. This was the show of the year for me!!!
