I very much overestimated the size of this random amazon desk but still

This is a "laptop setup". A long time ago due to personal circumstances I had to chose mobility over MAXIMUM POWER and it wasn't long before I realized it's actually quite practical so I've been choosing mobility ever since. And yes, this particular laptop isn't the most mobile but it still fits in a backpack unlike an actual desktop.

Anyway

Last picture is from the desk's amazon page so you could somewhat see what it looked like originally.

I've basically removed the 2 drawers on each side with the idea being that the middle section will be for the power supply + cables. I had to raise the board on it so it'd be at equal height with the side boards since it wasn't originally. I also had to make space in it for the arms + a hole underneath for the cables to move from the top to the bottom of the desk.

The initial idea I now realize was rather naive, namely to have the laptop + the cooler on a monitor arm. To be fair, the arm holds. What fails to hold is the plate on which the laptop sits - it tilts downwards hence why you're seeing the *definitely* temporary solution which is to just place a cardboard box underneath for support.

The 2 cable trays underneath the desk weren't there originally either nor was the drawer but I'd reckon they make a nice addition.
