I am proud to live in a community that steps up to help one another, and to call Susan Bloom a friend and colleague.

Every week, she volunteers her time delivering food to families and when the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center ran out of food this week and deliveries couldn’t be made, Susan organized an emergency food drive to make sure our neighbors had food on their tables.

No one should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Unfortunately, cuts to SNAP funding due to the “One Big Beautiful Bill” is making that reality harder for many right here in Rockland.

Food pantries are not receiving the food needed to feed our neighbors, due to HR1 and the snap cuts that Mike Lawler voted for. Susan Bloom, Cait Conley, Joe Rand, and Patrick Carroll are co-hosting an urgent food drive to help provide assistance. Clarkstown Dems will be at the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce’s Soccer Festival this Sunday collecting items.
