I have a state job that I like. But a cool opportunity at my agency opened up and I applied. In my app I said it's okay to contact my employer. When are they likely to actually do that? I want to be transparent with my supervisor but if I don't even get invited to interview I don't want to tell him I'm considering leaving.
Does anyone know why the light at Capitol and 4th has been on flashing red for over a week now? At first I thought it was broken but at this point it seems intentional. Is it some kind of traffic calming experiment?

These kids go to the same daycare in Olympia as my kid. Learned this morning that their dad failed to return them to their mom on Saturday according to their custody arrangement and may have taken them to Mexico. Correction since I can't edit the title: it sounds like they were last seen during custody transfer in Washington, not Utah. Really hope everyone is safe and returns home soon. I can't imagine what their loved ones are going through right now.
