TOKYO TEFUTEFU: “People Mock Us: ‘Your Group Is Still Around?’”

Highlights from recent (and not-so-recent) TOKYO TEFUTEFU streams:

• cute, funny, and cringey childhood stories
• the members react to people mocking the group
• why the girls often feel helpless
• what TEFUTEFU is really all about
• why you're not just part of the crowd
• and why you're already a Mirage👇

  • When Lust asked Imamura-san why he gave her the name "Lust," he replied, "Because I hoped you'd grow into that kind of person." In other words, he wanted her to one day reveal her mature, alluring side to the world.
  • Lust also laughingly claimed that, while she might not embody all seven deadly sins, she definitely has at least five of them covered.
  • According to Chimura, she used to be a hardcore PC player of Phantasy Star Online 2. She openly admitted she "spent a devilish amount of money" on the game.
  • One story from her online adventures: during a massive 100-player raid, the boss wiped out literally everyone on the server... except Chimu. She used a mass resurrection item, brought the entire server back to life, and was ridiculously proud of herself.
  • Lust confessed that, as a kid, she had a habit of chewing and tasting absolutely everything. Fruit-scented erasers, cat food, dog food... she even tried drinking liquid school glue.
  • While talking about elementary and middle school trends, the girls brought up Body Stitch (ボディステッチ) — a bizarre fad where teenagers would sew thread through the very top layer of skin on their arms (without drawing blood) to create little patterns like stars. Both Lust and Chimura actually did it!
  • A pretty unexpected fact about Chimu: she absolutely loves camping. As a child, she often went camping with her family, who would even set up camp beds outdoors. She fondly recalled lying in the mountains at night, watching a meteor shower overhead.
  • While talking about childhood memories of Golden Week, Lust shared that her family often traveled to southern islands for vacation, including Saipan, Hawaii, and Guam.
  • During school holidays, Ouhi-san often helped her parents with household chores in exchange for a "salary." She was extremely frugal and entrepreneurial from a young age, carefully saving everything she earned.
  • In complete contrast, Lust laughed as she recalled trying to act like a rich kid and spending all of her allowance on her friends.
  • As for Chimura, back in elementary school, she'd sometimes want to sing karaoke so badly that she'd talk her reluctant friends into going by offering to pay for everyone herself... only to end up spending all of her allowance too.
  • In Lust's family, everyone always had dinner together. But because they often waited for her father to get home from work, dinner sometimes wouldn't start until 9 or even 10 p.m. According to her, when she's hungry, she turns feral, just like the people in those Snickers commercials—so she'd stomp her feet and throw little tantrums yelling, "I'm hungry! I'm hungry!"
  • Tomorrow, June 28, TOKYO TEFUTEFU will hold an important concert at SHIBUYA PLEASURE PLEASURE—the very venue where the group made its debut on December 31, 2020. The members themselves find it remarkable that every current member has been with the group since day one, and they firmly believe there's profound meaning in the fact that they're still able to move forward together as this lineup. With that in mind, returning to the stage where their journey began feels especially symbolic.
  • The members noted that over their five-and-a-half-year journey, TEFUTEFU has pushed through countless difficult periods. For example, after their debut, their first shows drew decent crowds thanks to existing codomomental fans, but by the very next tour, hardly anyone was left. From there, every stage of the group's history brought new challenges, leaving them with no choice but to keep growing and pushing forward. They emphasized that many of the hardest moments have remained hidden behind the scenes—but they want to pour everything they felt through those moments into this upcoming performance, so they can truly share with their fans everything they've carried in their hearts over these past five and a half years.

>Chimura Shifumi: “Like, the times Ouhi-san would cry in the dressing room... Things like that happened too. But there are also things we could only gain because we made it through all of it.”

According to the members, they occasionally face mocking comments such as:
“Lol, your group's still around?”

“In a way, we live our lives admiring that dazzling world that's almost too bright for us to bear. And in order to reach it, we throw ourselves into the mud, struggle again and again, and keep trying our best.”

“And we want you to look at those mud-covered struggles of ours and think, ‘They're the ones I want to cheer for!’”

https://reddit.com/link/1uh2ctv/video/mm7oul4qqt9h1/player

“All we can do is keep saying, ‘Please come!’”

“We can't show up at your place and drag you along.”

“...But if we could, we'd honestly go pick up every single one of you ourselves!”

https://reddit.com/link/1uh2ctv/video/mfow18sqqt9h1/player

“We may not look it, but we're actually really weak.”

“We've had shows where only three people showed up.”

“But even if only one person comes, that's enough to give us the strength to keep going!”

https://reddit.com/link/1uh2ctv/video/td82wvhrqt9h1/player

Try telling them you're not a Mirage after this 😶

P.S. If you enjoyed this post, your upvotes and comments aren't just great feedback - they also help boost the algorithm so the girls' feelings can reach even more people!

Zenbu Kimi no Sei da: "We Were Scared to Come Back to Japan"

Highlights from recent Zenbu Kimi no Sei da streams:

• Hikikomori babies👶
Megumi's zombie masterclass🧟‍♀️
• Surviving a deserted island with Zenkimi🏝️
• Country #18 confirmed?👀
• What it felt like to return to Japan after everything that happened on the European tour…
👇

  • It turns out that both Muku and Hikari were born nearly two weeks past their due dates. Laughing about it, the two concluded that they had both been basically hikikomori babies who stubbornly refused to come out into the world until the very last moment.
  • Muku and Hikari warmly reminisced about Malaysian fans surprising them with birthday cakes. They were genuinely amazed that a pumpkin-shaped cake actually tasted like pumpkin.
  • "Hello Kiss me No say" is a song from Zenbu Kimi no Sei da's first album that stands out for having unusually high vocals by the group's standards. According to Megumi, when the song was being written, composer Hayashi Takahiro checked the vocal ranges of all the members at the time and deliberately wrote the melody right at the very edge of what they could sing.

Megumi discovers a new career path: professional zombie.

Muku is genuinely horrified.

"Could you please stop doing that?"

  • As the group continues traveling around the world, they're often asked, "Which country did you like the most?" Megumi gave a simple but beautiful answer: "What we liked most were the people." The members were especially moved by the kindness they received everywhere they went, as well as by fans who learned Japanese specifically so they could communicate with them.
  • For more than a year, Megumi negotiated with the local authorities of her tiny hometown village in Fukui Prefecture in hopes of bringing Zenbu Kimi no Sei da there for the annual summer fireworks festival. It was something she had wanted to do three years ago, before the group's Budokan performance, but there simply wasn't enough room in the schedule. This year, on July 25, that dream will finally come true, and the group will perform right at the place where she used to work part-time. Megumi says that if Takahashi Ai is the star of Fukui, she herself hopes to become the moon of Fukui—or at least the moon of her village.
  • The members agreed it would be great to perform at the festival in traditional summer jinbei outfits, since dancing their choreography in yukata would simply be impossible.
  • Megumi emphasized that her hometown is probably far more rural than most people imagine. There aren't even enough children left to keep the local elementary school open, and even when she attended it, the grade two years below hers had only seven students.
  • When Megumi worked at a beach shack in her village, one of her main jobs was... gutting squid and pulling out their beaks with her bare hands. The beaks were hard and sharp enough that she frequently cut herself doing it.
  • Fans may even get the chance to visit Megumi's family home. At least, she says she "believes her family can handle however many visitors show up." Incidentally, her old room has essentially become a whole museum filled with birthday gifts she has received from fans over the years.
  • During a conversation about how, despite living in Tokyo for years, she has visited surprisingly few of the city's famous attractions, Megumi revealed that before joining Zenbu Kimi no Sei da, she worked as a real estate agent in Ikebukuro. Nobody forced her to overwork — but in typical Megumi fashion, she'd regularly stay at the office until midnight on her own initiative, hunting down new listings to present to clients first thing in the morning. She worked so much that she barely remembers what she did on her days off, though she suspects she rarely stayed home even then—something that hasn't changed to this day—and would often go out to places like movie theaters instead.
  • While touring Europe, Megumi missed spicy food so much that she bought a huge bag of takanotsume chili peppers and carried it around in her bag everywhere she went. She also ate so many peanuts while abroad that she ended up developing a peanut allergy.
  • A discussion about performing on remote islands eventually turned into a conversation about survival. Megumi confidently declared she'd have no trouble surviving on a deserted island — she's ready to take on scouting the forest and fishing. She can climb trees, and she knows how to dive, so she could gather shellfish from the seafloor as well. The members agreed that Muku could be trusted with cooking and would probably be very active overall—"as long as they keep her in the shade." Hikari, unable to do any of the above, declared that she would instead spend the whole time patiently boiling seawater to make salt. Megumi pointed out that both she and Muku are prone to allergies and would probably break out in rashes almost immediately while wandering through tall grass and brush, whereas Hikari is remarkably resilient in that regard. Hikari proudly confirmed this and enthusiastically accepted the responsibility.

Megumi on how being an idol feels like a never-ending school festival.

Even though people on the outside don't really know what this world is like behind the scenes.

  • The members were delighted to note that their solo performance at Germany's Nippon Connection festival drew the largest audience they have ever had at an overseas concert.
  • They also mentioned that, as of the stream, they had already performed 99 shows as part of their current ambitious tour. Their 100th show took place in Shimane yesterday, June 13, and today marks exactly one year since the tour began.
  • So far, the tour has taken them to 16 countries. Australia will be the 17th when Zenbu Kimi no Sei da head there in July. On the very day of the stream, an 18th country was also confirmed, though no details have been announced yet.
  • They also mentioned there's a chance the group could visit Norway for a third time within this tour.
  • The tour will have two separate finales: a Japanese finale and a world finale. The Japanese finale will take place on September 6 at Tokyo Kinema Club and will mark the completion of yet another journey through all 47 prefectures of Japan. For overseas fans planning to attend, the group is preparing a dedicated ticket purchasing system that will not require a Japanese phone number or other local requirements.
  • As always, various pre-order bonuses are available, including the chance to become a member's "personal manager" for the day at this major concert. For now, the only options are for Megumi, Muku, and **Hikari **— as of the June 8th stream, Mei and Komochi hadn't yet made their decisions, but if they choose to return, options for them will be added as well.
