I’ve been a homebrewer for a long time and spent a few years working as a software engineer in the beer app space.
Over time I kept wanting something a bit different. Less noise, less chasing engagement, more focus on the beer itself.
So I started building Taphouse.
The goal has been to keep it simple and intentional. No ads, no tracking, no pressure to make everything social.
It supports things like BJCP style reviews if you want to go deeper than a quick personal rating, tracking canned on or best by dates, multiple photos per log, and a solo mode where it’s just your own private beer journal.
There’s also a “back on tap” view that resurfaces beers you had on this day in past years, which has been a fun way to rediscover stuff I forgot about.
It’s still early, but it’s live now.
I’ve had a 3 vessel system with propane for a while. I’m now looking to consolidate down for space savings to a one vessel system and go electric.
I’m centering in on the 15G 240v Spike Solo system. Anyone have any experience with it?
I read a while back on a thread somewhere that the 10G version folks had issues with where the basket sits when you pull it out sitting in wort and can’t always get a full 5G batch out of that version.
