Volunteer sprouts or weeds?

I have about 10 different plants in my garden and they’ve been growing well with minimal issues! After doing a walk through yesterday, I noticed bunches of tiny green sprouts in my sweet potato fabric bag and shallot container.

The growths have a hard and round bulb and the roots are pretty deep. I’ve removed them from both grow bags but I cannot find an answer to what these might be. Also set a few aside in water to let them grow because I’m just curious.

I have chipmunks and rabbits that hop around from time to time (even with barriers to keep them away). Other things I have growing nearby: cherry tomatoes, strawberries, mint, marigold, watermelon, corn, sugar snap peas, banana peppers, carrots, blueberries, Cherokee purple tomatoes

What are we thinking?
