PSA: Now a good time to cancel Kayo

If you are looking to minimise your Kayo spend, then the last Pies game is on a free to air night, following that, ALL finals (including wildcard) are free to air.

So it may well be that now is a good time to cancel and ensure that those greedy pricks don't get a cent more than they need to.

Munnel line frustration

Sigh, yet another weekend disruption on the Cran Pak line, this time terminating at Caulfield.

As a regular weekday and occasional afer hours / weekend commuter, I can genuinely praise the reliability of the former since the new tunnel came along.

The latter on the other hand has been appalling.

I understand it's planned works, but is there an end to this?

AITA train etiquette edition

6:30am late last week, boarding a train to run me into the city.

Train is semi-busy, no two seat lots available, so if I want to sit then I will have to sit next to someone.

My usual way in this situation is to sit next to someone that has a bag on the seat next to them, I'm just wired for conflict I guess (lol.)

I walk up the the closest person, who happens to be a woman with a handbag on the adjacent seat, I make a bag lifting motion with my hand and mumble an "excuse me" - my words may have been barely audible, being 6:30 am and all.

She gives me a look, then moves her bag and I sit down but she follows up with a clearly sarcastic "excuse me, could you please move the bag, yeah no worries'.

I ignore it, when she gets off she pushes past me again with an exaggerated "excuse me *inaudible inaudibe...manners", making her annoyance clear.

Now, she probably has a point that I could have been more polite about it, but to me the initial rudeness that sparked all this was the bag on the seat of a busying train. If the seat doesn't have a person in it then as far as I'm concerned the seat is empty, I should not have to ask anyones permission to sit in it. I feel that people put bags next to them in this situation to create a visual deterrence to the seat next to them being chosen and it rubs me the wrong way.

On the other hand I'm a bigger guy so maybe she felt a bit intimidated by the situation and perhaps I should take that into account and make a bit more of a show of being polite.

2026, I have but one request...

There's AI writing top ten hits

And influencers selling grifts

The crypto bros are still in force

Giving bad financial gifts

You open up your phone at night

Doom Scrolling beyond the pale

But things can't be all that bad

If Hawthorn's season fails

I do what every boomer does

When housing prices stay so high

I blame the avocado toast

Consumed under the Melbourne sky

You think the country's going down?

Just read the news detail

But things can't be all that bad

If Hawthorn's season fails

The Iran bizzo went belly up

Petrol prices went sky high

The house deposit's a million bucks

And my myki card declined

I thought I paid the parking fine

Court notice in the mail

But things can't be all that bad

If Hawthorn's season fails

Now, I'm not a vindictive man

Ain't got one vengeful pore

I could be stuck on Punt Road

For ten years, maybe more

Pauline could become dictator

While Australia Sieg Heils

But things still wouldn't be all that bad

If Hawthorn's season fails

(with apologies to TISM)
