[PubQ] Agent referral... to an agent who rejected me 4 months ago.
Got a partial request from a lovely agent. After sending, I immediately got a message along the lines of "actually, this might be a better fit for my colleague X, send it to her". Great, if I hadn't gotten a form rejection from said colleague months ago. Awkward! Normally, I'd treat this as a "rejection is a rejection is a rejection" case and would never resubmit... but my query package six months ago was significantly worse. The pitch was worse and the sample pages started with a (bad) prologue that everyone hated (including me). I suspect a referral and better pitch would change things a bit, but also do not want to behave like an idiot. What do you think, would resubmitting be a big no-no right now?
