hours a day studying at certain scores

I saw someone on here say that they don’t think that 2 hours a day is enough for someone who is at 17low and aiming for 17mid+. I’m curious about why? what are people’s thoughts? Especially tutors!!

clawed my way here every damn step

i just wanted to post this to celebrate a little win. this is my first ever score in the 170s. i actually never scored over a 164 on a PT before this. after plateauing for MONTHS I tried a completely different approach including taking no more PTs, redoing the same challenging questions over and over AND over again and recognizing patterns in mistakes. I did this for a month and a half and here’s my first PT since.

my plateau was so frustrating and discouraging to me. people outside this world don’t realize the emotional toll that this bullshit takes on you. “to get something that you’ve never had, you have to do something that you’ve never done” or whatever. solidarity with everyone in a plateau right now! try something different!

these next few points are gonna kill me BUT HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!

how long did it take you to write your personal statement?

wow, writing this thing is incredibly challenging. i’m a professional writer and i’ve never struggled so much. i guess the stakes have never been higher! would love to hear about everyone’s experience/process writing their PS!

a debt, radio silence, and (thanks to this thread) paranoia

i have a 1k debt that i don’t think is fair (sneaky unethical practices by a certain auto insurance company) and i refused to pay it because i don’t believe i owe it. well i argued with them to the moon and they sent it to collections a few years ago. seeing this sub made me paranoid. do these things always end in law suits? no debt collector has ever contacted me. i just thought i’d let it ride till it’s off my credit report. advice?

more steady survey flow

When I first started a month ago it was pretty dry, but I’ve seen an increase in surveys lately.
I was off work yesterday and just sat there to focus on surveys. wow! so many high paying ones appeared. I wasn’t quick enough for most of them lol but it made me hopeful that I would be able to eventually make some decent money on here. I am desperate to make supplemental income…. In your experience, are you able to bring in a decent amount of money per month doing this part time?

LOR advice needed

Context is I am 5, almost 6 years out of undergrad. I have several LORs on file that I got from professors when I was finishing up school. I also have one from the CEO of the place i worked at right out of undergrad. I’m applying this upcoming cycle and I figured that I need a more current LOR. I did manage to get one from the CEO of a more recent role (I got it after they laid me off LOL) but I have a gut feeling that he used AI to write it and didn’t put much effort in it.

Should I use it? I obviously haven’t seen it but the gut feeling is strong and is informed by context. Would love everyone’s thoughts. If I shouldn’t use it, I need to get creative to find a new letter. My current job is a no because they would not be pleased to know that I am planning on leaving them in a year.

the new test interface on 7sage

i started trying out the new test interface on 7sage. i know it’s still in beta but i was wondering if anyone has any insights.
when an RC question asks about a particular word or sentence, the previous interface would highlight what is being referred in the actual passage in blue. That’s not happening on the new interface. any insight into if that’s that something 7sage hasn’t incorporated or is the test really taking that feature away?🥲

i’m using 7sage which recommends a PT a week but other things i’ve read (admittedly, on this subreddit) have lead me to believe that maybe that’s not the right approach. I saw very high scorers say that they PT’ed once a month. I’m not seeing huge progess between PTs, which is leading to this reconsideration. At the same time, I need to maintain mental stamina. Testing in August! What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Please share any “AHA!” or breakthrough moments that you had that lead to a significant and consistent score increase.

signed: i’m in the pits of hell. I feel like I am understanding concepts, reviewing, taking notes, but still not progressing. it’s been months of 16low with an occasional 159 to kick me in the teeth. when reviewing wrong answers I always think “DUH!” but that begs the question of why i didn’t recognize that from the start. this test is a psyop
