I’m primarily an instrumental composer, but I’ve been trying out songwriting! You can skip reading the rest if you don’t feel like it lol

This is my new vocal/electronic single and preview for my next album (which will be in a similar style). It encompasses rock-band and ambient components in hopes of emulating atmospheric alternative music from the early 2000s, albeit entirely in a DAW.

An interesting concept I'm playing with is the loss of something you only had in a dream, which was an odd emotion I experienced frequently as a child. In this single I start at trying to emulate that feeling.

I see a lot of posts with minimal engagement, so I’m hoping this will work out.

I’ll listen to all tracks you comment on here, as long as you promise to listen to mine in return.
If you want constructive criticism, ask. I am a classical composer and have insight you might find helpful despite the fact that I’m an amateur in songwriting. For this song, criticism is welcome as well.

I spent awhile trying to emulate an ethereal alt rock feel within a DAW, ultimately coming up with this single. I’m primarily an instrumental composer, but recently I’ve been pushing outside of my comfort zone and participating in songwriting. I hope to make art that really does justice to dreampop / ambient rock, although I’m not confidently there yet. With that being said, I’m confident that this is a good listen, for anyone willing to try it out.
