Freelance consulting stack/toolset - what do you use or recommend?

10yr XP strategy consultant looking to go solo soon (US-based). I want to know what tools/subscriptions you use. Here are some high level categories but welcome others. Ideally I want to start low-cost, but want to get a sense if I happen to land a few projects already in the works.

  1. Invoicing / accounting

  2. Digital signatures

  3. MSFT office vs Google (docs/sheets) -- anybody using HTML for deliverables (via Claude)?

3a) zoom/WebEx/meet/Teams

3b) notion/obsidian for note taking

3c) AI transcription?

  1. Claude / OpenAI (do you pay for the $20 or business premium/pro $100 x mo. subscription)

4a) if you some AI work, VS Code/Cursor/n8n?

  1. CRM? Calendly?

  2. LinkedIn for lead gen/posting reaching out

  3. domain / website hosting (simple web with custom domain for email address)

  4. document transfer/storage service? (How do you keep docs secure, but also allow collaboration) - any issues with security requirements from a tech/cyber angle as a contractor?

  5. CPA (will find a local person, but how much should I pay, did you go s-corp early on?)

  6. any bank / cc recs? Looking at Amex business banking

  7. laptop recs? Haven't bought a personal laptop in 13 years :) thinking thinkpad

  8. any tips on SOW T&C worth mentioning?

Profile suggestion for new steel in young player

So, my son broke his fly-x runners -- he didn't notice, but did mention he was doing a drill that involved stopping the puck with his skate during camp last week. He's 9yo, 1.5 skate size with a 212L holder. Likes to play center but I think he will be playing more defense this upcoming season (is a dog out there but his hands have not caught up yet).

I'm leaning towards getting him bladetechs given the quality comments re: fly-x and looking for suggestions on profiles to give him a little more agility (he could do a little better on tight punch turns and fast crossovers up ice). He currently using the 13" standard bauer blade profile for junior skates. He's on 3/4" fire hollow.

Of course given the runner size he's limited to what available for them.

I know there's a lot of personal preference and trying out different profiles until it clicks for him is not an option ($$). So looking for suggestions if this was your kid. Something close to home Zuperior 3XS, or switch to a Polaris/Quad, or SCS center profile?

EDIT: I guess my comments imply that he sucks, but he's a pretty good skater/player. Started when he was 5 (will turn 10 in a few days), plays two teams in-season (town -not in-house- and club/travel). I'm already buying new runners, might as well try a profile vs. doing the 13" again.

EDIT2: for sharpening he already progressed through 1/2 > 5/8 > 5/8 fire > 3/4 fire. He has no issues holding an edge.
