A couple of years ago I got obsessed with tracking down old appliance manuals because my grandparents had this ancient rice cooker that nobody could figure out anymore. That rabbit hole somehow turned into me digging through library archives, obscure manufacturer sites, and random forums.

Eventually people started messaging me asking if I could find manuals for vintage sewing machines, arcade cabinets, old cameras, lab equipment… basically anything discontinued.

I figured I’d try charging $10-20 if I actually found what they needed. Most requests take 15-30 minutes, but every now and then I’ll spend an hour chasing dead links just because I get stubborn. It’s weirdly satisfying when you finally uncover a scanned PDF that hasn’t been seen since 1998.

It’s definitely not enough to quit my job or anything, but I’ve made a few hundred dollars doing something I would’ve done for fun anyway.
