TSA - Can you get "Continue or Die" achievement on NG+?

Recently started playing this game with a friend (we're loving it), but found out too late that there is an achievement for not using any continues. We used our first one in the 2nd level since my friend died to the instakill-head and I immediately afterwards got flung into the guy due to an explosion (lol).

Because of that, I wanted to know if you can retry for this achievement on the NG+ run or if it is hard locked out the moment your initial save has a continue. If not, I could just do a new save Sweet mode, but seems a bit unfun (plus I think an all achievements run is gonna require a lot of grinding in general).

EDIT: Did some more searching outside of the steam page and found a post where someone said they got the achievement in NG+, so I it sounds like you can?

What's everyone's thoughts on NMH3? + My experience with NMH1-3

About a month ago I got around to playing NMH for the first time and immediately fell in love with it. Although I normally find gameplay to be the most important factor in a game, NMH1 is a big exception for me. The combat is serviceable and the open world feels like padding more than anything but WOW the absurdist comedy with the campy voice acting had me infatuated.

After beating NMH1 I quickly jumped over to NMH2 which felt like they made some major improvements to the first game but fumbled the bag in the last third of the game. Cutting out the open world felt like a great choice as it wasn't needed and (hopefully) allowed for more dev time on other aspects of the game. The new minigames are a unique spin, and the combat felt like a general improvement. Most importantly, the absurdist comedy was kept intact and had just as many great moments as NMH1. Biggest issue though is that around the last third of the game it feels like they just ran out of steam. Minigames stop appearing, upgrades are non-existent, and the pre-boss fight areas where you fight mooks felt underdeveloped. It doesn't help when some are just lacking music period. Lastly, the final boss is certainly the boss of all time. Overall, though, I'd still say it was a good game.

I hoped that NMH3 would be a further step forward, and it was in terms of combat. One of the best in the series easily. However, everything else felt like the worst in the series (but maybe that's what nearly 2 decades of being away from the IP can do). The biggest issue for me was the comedy. We went from the absurdist overacted comedy of 1 and 2 to 3 which seems to be almost entirely consistent of reference humor and nothing more. There are a few jokes in the intro and the end that made me laugh, but the middle was mostly dry. Additionally, the music feels the weakest in the series. Not because it is bad, but it just doesn't suit the setting? Most of the early bosses have these lofi-chill songs that are head scratching choices. Lastly is the open world. I feel like they should have learned from NMH2 and just not had an open world. Similar to NMH1, NMH3's open world is big and barren, but now with multiple islands that are all flat and empty. There are other stylistic things from the first games that added to the fun that are missing in 3 such as the enemies taunting Travis and shouting before becoming blood fountains, but I think I've covered the gist of it.

When I was playing NMH1+2 I was able to chat with a close friend of mine who also played the game and was able to discuss our feelings on the game. However, that friend hasn't played NMH3 yet so I don't have anyone to discuss the game with. So that's where I ask you! That! That is what I want!

TL;DR:

NMH1 = Peak absurdist comedy with a banger OST and serviceable gameplay

NMH2 = Great strides in gameplay w/ the same comedy and OST, but lacking content in the last third.

NMH3 = Best combat in the series but lost the "soul" of NMH1+2. Comedy is almost entirely reference humor (which doesn't hit), very focused on a stale story (when story is one of the least important things in NMHs imo), and an OST that is fine but often feels out of place.

I had people to bounce off my thoughts on NMH1+2 with but that's not the case with NMH3, so I wanted to see what others thought.
