So what's the best all-rounder? Xmid Tents (ALL CONDITIONS!)
Hey everybody - I might be one of the few folks lucky enough to have slept in one of Mr. Durston's tents before buying, but I liked the experience and I reckon I'll get one here soon. This will be my first trekking pole tent.
So I've seen a few posts about the regular, pro and solid, and the answers are all basically the same (depends on conditions, etc:)
Here's the deal: I hike everywhere, all the time!
I live in Europe, and I spend equal time in southern Europe / Mediterranean (Balkans, Greece, Italy) and Northern / Central Europe (Alps, Britain/Scotland, Tatras). Hot summer nights, cold winter mornings. Snow, sunshine, wind, perfect-calm, insects, everything!
Admittedly I don't plan on camping in heavy snow pack (I might one day!) but I do plan on camping in rough conditions as one might find in Scotland (wind, rain, cold but nothing too deep below freezing).
Broke, foreign, college-student on a tight budget. Getting two isn't really an option (this also kind of rules out the pro really). Sleep system is neoair xlite and a down quilt rated to -1. Happy to sleep in a puffy, etc.
So if you had to pick one all-rounder, for most conditions, what would it be?
