I've been desperate to figure this out, and have tried many things and asked in game.. But anyway, I had been playing for a few days for the first time in years, with the steam client. And after figuring out how to disable global alerts on the screen, I was pleased to still be able to get them for my own character/family, such as when my life skills advanced to a new rank (Apprentice 5 for example) or when I succeeded in processing.

So anyway, fast forward a week or so, and for whatever reason I decided to try playing with the native client from the website. After installing, everything worked okay except...I was no longer getting personal alerts for milestones. I tried literally everything I could think of, I turned alerts back on, reset all settings to defaults, edited my ui, reinstalled the game, deleted settings data in the documents folder AND the steam folder...and still no luck. I just can't figure out why it was happening before and just isn't now. It might be settings data backed up on the steam cloud or BDO's own servers getting auto restored, but I have no idea. If anyone knows, you'd be a savior.

Edit: Just realized that despite the fact that all the global notifications are turned on, theyre not flashing on the screen at all. It's as though my notifications element in my UI is missing/disabled/broken
