I'm absolute grinder at heart who is always looking for new grindy games with meaningful grind so BDO often catches my attention as a perfect grind fantasy. But then opinions of existing players confuse me. People who have 40k hours game time calling this the worst game ever - I guess it is not unusual mindset in gaming in general.

So it is hard for me to understand if the grind in this game feels worthwhile/meaningful/fun. The state of PvP and competition is quite irrelevant to me. For me meaningful grind = enough game given progression systems, checkboxes to tick, not the 'build your own adventure' type.

I tried it about a year ago, but felt quite overwhelmed by running from NPC to NPC for two hours, and the combat also felt a bit on the complicated side with the button combos, but maybe that is just the matter of learning and getting used to.

So any takes?

And how fast can you actually get to the grind part?

I need some help from people with experience.

I have tried every lifeskill in the game, my mastery for everything is about 1600-1700(fishing and gathering mostly).

My favs are gathering fishing alchemy and cooking. I could also do bartering but i only have a caravel and the time i need to invest into a carrack seems overwhelming.

I want to drop grinding fully and just do lifeskilling. I do have 500 max energy but after i do gathering on all the characters im left with nothing to do except grinding.

I have about 2-3 hours of daily playtime. What should my routine be so that i can only focus on lifeskilling and only upgrading that gear with the silver i make? (Note that i dont leave my pc on overnkght for fishing, thanks for help!!)

Just downloaded and coming from WoW

Trying to find a class that is easy to pick up and good at both PVP and PVE, have tried trial characters and feel it's too much to take in all at once.

Friend recommended Guardian but it's a bit too simple

I’ve been creating beginner friendly guides mostly based on my own experience, but for this one I really want to involve the community so I can make the most complete “Gathering 101” guide possible.

Some topics I’m planning to cover:

• How to unlock gathering minigames
• Best gathering spots for specific materials
• Energy management/recovery
• Silver making methods
• EXP optimization
• Artifacts/lightstones/buffs
• Hedgehog & pets
• Useful resources/tools
• Tips & tricks
• Basically common questions newer gatherers usually have

I can answer most of these myself already, but I think community input would make the guide way better overall.

I have an old alt from like 4 years ago that I want to revisit. I literally bought all the skins with him so I don't want to change him or delete him for a new character, but he is not a seasonal character.

During latest AoS I have experienced a lot of issue where my skill with SA doesn't really work. For example, the reckless blow which seems to say SA while charging but I got knocked down while charging and another skill, slashing the dead which I also got knocked down while my character already jumping up.

The grab of my succession warrior is also bugged? as the grab animation look successful, but opponent flee away like nothing happen and my character throwing an air to the ground.

Will ExitLag help reducing some of this issue?

Coming back after awhile away from the game and it looks like they have nearly finished the main continent and most of the "map" - what do you think will happen then? New continent? Engine update? More of the same (new classes/dungeons/world bosses etc) Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere - completely out of the loop so curious to know whats been said/discussed or hinted at.
