I’ve had it with COTA!

I take the 52 Canal Winchester to/from downtown for work. It only has 3 morning departures from the Canal Park & Ride, and 3 afternoon departures from its downtown stops.

If you miss the last of the 3, you’re stuck.

There have always been issues on this line. But the last few months have been absolutely terrible.

Ever since the Spring Street terminal went under repairs (which were supposed to be finished on May 1st which, surprise, they’re not), the pick-up spot has been an absolute crap-shoot.

There’s a different driver almost every day, and it seems like each one decides where they’re going to stop.

Sometimes they don’t even stop at all.

I was waiting at the typical stop one day, and the bus was approaching quickly without slowing down. I started waving the driver down to make sure she knew to stop, but she just waved back and kept on driving. I had to take an Uber back home that day.

Every day I have to just guess where the bus is going to decide to pick me up, and pray that I’m right.

When I call to complain, or ask where I’m supposed to wait to get the bus, the person gives me a different answer each time.

One time they just told me “oh, that driver called off today.”

Another time the 4:40 bus didn’t show up at all. I called and they said “I have no idea where that bus is, sorry.”

So far I have used the “free ride home” from the MORPC organization twice, but I only get 4 of those per year, so that’s not a sustainable option.

The inconsistent pickups are not the only problem. Yesterday, when the temps were in the 90’s, the A/C was either broken or they didn’t turn it on.

COTA is an absolute embarrassment of an organization.
