Heavy rain creating waterfall ruining lawn below

Hoping to find a DIY solution to this problem. Any advice to redirect water coming from uphill so that it discharges toward right hand side of yard instead of directly below the stairs?

I have plenty of bricks that I could use to shore up along the fence but I am a novice when it comes to grading and drainage. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Heat Pump to replace AC unit in NW NJ.

During the recent power outage in my area (climate zone 5A), my central AC outdoor unit kicked the bucket. I would like to replace the outdoor unit with a heat pump, but getting mixed reviews. Currently using oil as our heat source in the winter. Im exploring 2 options:

  1. Replace AC unit with a new AC Unit. Continue using Oil Tank heat only. ~$7k

  2. Replace AC unit with a heat pump. Keep oil tank and furnace as backup heat source. ~$14k. For Goodman Model GSZB4

HVAC tech is telling me that id only be able to use the heat pump in the shoulder months and oil heat would be necessary for the winter months.

Any advice? Does it make more sense to replace with a new AC unit instead of a heat pump? Im trying to stick to a budget of less than $20k. Square footage of home is 1100 sqft.
