AITJ for not matching the money I spent on my second daughter with my eldest daughter
This keeps coming up in family discussions. My oldest daughter is mad at me because she feels that I should spend on her what I spent on my second daughter. Here’s the thing though, I spent $7200 on braces for my second daughter. The oldest started car shopping because she felt she was owed $7200. I don’t see those as the same at all. My father recently brought it up again. Am I the jerk for not matching what I spent on braces?
Edit: I had already given the oldest $1000 to get a car. She had a car and was looking to upgrade it.
Also, I asked my ex wife for help to pay for the braces. She told the girls the cost. That is why she knew how much they were.
Edit 2: Three years between the girls. The braces were medically necessary. The first girl did not require braces.
