Preparing for GCIH

I couldn’t make use of the entire time the past two months because of extreme work stress and pressure. I have a little over a month and going at full swing at it now.

I really regret not being able to focus on this since day 1. I think SANS has amazing material especially with the labs. I love the labs and kinda recently started exploring it. Hopefully, I am able to get through all of this in the remaining time I have.

Question on labs:
I started indexing the commands and it’s such a long list. I am not sure if I am indexing the right way. For example, I have 50+ entries only for Labs 1.1 Live Investigation. Am I doing the right way?

I am worried I am over indexing. Are the actual lab exams similar to what’s provided in the SANS training?

I find the materials wide & deep. Thank God it’s open book exam! Not sure if I am trying to learn every single word & concept.

Invitation to the GIAC Advisory Board

Who gets invited? Does one need to get a perfect score in the exam or 90% and above is enough?

AI Spotlight sections in GCIH (SEC 504)

I heard the use of Internet is not allowed for the exam. What’s the purpose of AI Spotlight sections then? Are we allowed to use GenAI in the exam? How important are these spotlight sections?

Thanks!

Graduate cert program (4 courses) - Certification renewal

I have enrolled in the Grad Certificate program from SANS for which I need to complete 4 GIAC exams. The question I have is, do I have to pay to renew all those in 4 years? I have just done one single renewal so far and it came around $500 plus required CPEs.

GCIH - Are watching the videos mandatory? Or is it enough to just stick to books?

I am hardly having time to watch the videos with a full time job and RTO. Can someone score above 90% without watching the videos but having a good index?

Will I get extra terminologies or tools or concepts for the index from the videos?

Please help.

Switching from pump to MDI

The past 15 hours have been brutal! I didn’t want to try a big basal and then deal with lows. So, started on less which is 7 units and now I gotta wait for 24 hrs to give a different dose. Been giving a lot of bolus doses to correct it. Had sourdough bread slice which was a big mistake in this situation.

I literally cried after not being able to bring it to range. This disease can be absolutely brutal at times.

Folks who made this switch, how did you manage the first few days on MDI?

Tresiba is my long acting insulin and Novolog is my short acting insulin. Any tips?
