Would you pay for an AI app that monitored your truck’s health in real time?

I’m a small fleet owner, and I’ve been thinking about a problem I keep running into.

Imagine plugging a small device into your truck (or using one that’s already available) and opening an app that shows everything in one place:

Check engine lights with plain-English explanations
Fault codes and how serious they are
Tire pressure
Oil life and fluid levels (if supported by the truck)
Battery health
Maintenance reminders
DOT inspection reminders
GPS location
Driver alerts
Repair history
AI predictions of potential failures before they leave you stranded

For example, instead of seeing a random fault code, the
app could say:
“Your truck has a DEF-related fault. This issue commonly leads to derate mode if ignored. Estimated repair cost: $400–$900. Recommended to schedule service within the next 200 miles.”

The goal would be to help owner-operators and small fleets avoid breakdowns, reduce downtime, and stay ahead of maintenance.

I’m not selling anything. I’m trying to find out if this is a real problem worth solving.

A few questions:
Would you actually pay for something like this?
How much would you realistically pay per truck each month?
What features would make it a must-have?
What do current systems like Samsara or Motive do that you like—or don’t like?
What’s your biggest frustration when it comes to truck maintenance today?

I appreciate any honest feedback, even if you think it’s a terrible idea.

Truck driver looking to quit while I have a live load in the back

I have a trucking company I hired a driver who I had to fly out to come start driving for me so that’s an investment that I made. However on day 1 the truck decided to break down. That’s one of those thing where we can’t control I feel like something like that shouldn’t lead to you wanting to quit. I was taking full responsibility to fix it so we can still make it to the delivery. After fixing the truck I then realized she isn’t really trying to drive now since the truck got don’t with repairs late and it’s a 14h drive. So I had to drive with her overnight the drive so we can’t control deliver this load. Long story short made it to the delivery on time driver still here but keep in mind I did this drive after having leg surgery. As an owner operator those are the things you have to do in this game. Was not fun but gatta do what you have to do.

What would you have do If that was you in my position?
