Someone used my phone number for a Moneyview loan application — how is this possible?

Today I received an SMS from Moneyview saying that a loan application was submitted using my mobile number . I did not apply for any loan.

I then opened the application and saw that the KYC details belong to another person, including his Aadhaar details and photo. I obviously don’t know this person.

The confusing part is: how was my mobile number verified? If Moneyview requires an OTP, how could someone create/use an account with my number without having access to my phone?

I also received a CIBIL SMS saying that WHIZDM FINANCE checked my CIBIL report today, which makes me more concerned.

Could this simply be someone accidentally entering the wrong phone number, or is there another way this could happen? Has anyone experienced something similar with Moneyview?

I’m contacting Moneyview to cancel the application and delete the account associated with my number. I have screenshots of the application and SMSes.

Airtel Wifi(ki mkc)

I’m facing a frustrating issue with Airtel Broadband and wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with this.

Around 2 months ago, I cleared all pending dues and informed the Airtel executive that I wanted to cancel my broadband connection. I was told to send/write a cancellation mail, which I did. After that, I kept getting calls from executives trying to convince me not to cancel instead of actually processing the disconnection request.

Now after 2 months, Airtel has generated additional bills. When I contacted them, they said there was Wi-Fi usage during these months. That may be true but negligible use like alexa may be connected , but my point is that I had already informed them to cancel the connection earlier, and the request was never properly processed from their side.

Currently the Airtel app shows the broadband as “suspended”, but it still shows an option to pay the pending bill.

I’m confused about:

* whether I should pay the full amount,

* whether suspension means the connection is effectively closed,

* and whether Airtel can still continue generating bills after this.

Has anyone faced something similar? What’s the best way to handle this situation?
