is my nipple piercing too deep?
title. i got my nipples pierced by a HIGHLY regarded piercing shop about 3 months ago. he did regular free consults to make sure the piercing was healing well and every time said they looked great. i kept bringing up that i felt they might be too deep, but he said they aren’t. i wasn’t sure, and when they’re hard they don’t look deep to me (last photo).
2 weeks ago i went in for my last consult and he downsized from 18mm to 16mm. for a week i was having no issues, but recently i’d noticed on the left nipple specifically that the right ball was sinking into the skin and the hole looked a lot better. i messaged him and he said to go back to the 18mm. went to a different piercing shop just yesterday as i am on vacation to have them change back, and he mentioned they look pierced too deep. he didn’t say i should take them out and he changed the jewelry.
i can’t stop looking at them and thinking they’re too deep and wondering if i should take them out. you can see on the first photos that the right side is swollen and i think that’s just from the downsizing issue. should i take them out? i can’t get to a piercer i trust for another 2ish weeks. is it worth waiting or getting out immediately?
