I made an account just to share this but I have younger siblings who love katseye. They are so insanely parasocial I cannot understand it. They have never had a connection to a celebrity like katseye. They've never had any extreme connection to a celebrity at all until now. I will be talking to them about how I think katseye sucks and they will get so defensive they start getting physical on me. I have no idea what has gotten into them for them to be so possessive and weird over this group that they are getting aggressive with me over it. After this I started research on katseye to at least get an idea of what is so enticing about them. To me nothing. Their music is some of the most horrible I've ever heard. The lyrics have no driving purpose anything I cannot comprehend how these songs are being listened to. The music is so repetitive I don't know why official music terms or anything but the melodies are so simple and repetitive it sounds like Ai. Katseye started out by some tv show game where regular ppl submit online auditions in hopes of going to the show to compete to join katseye. But all of the contestants have rich parents/ industry connections. So they lied about taking real auditions.There's girls in the group who were on America's got talent as children. I know that Kpop is kind of strictly industry planted but I cannot believe this level of inauthenticity in music.not everything has to be some true story deep bs, I know but this is just so manufactured there's not even a hint of humanity in it. Katseye is so artificial Its like if wonder bread were music. The music. I've realized how katseye is not selling music or art it's selling the girls. My siblings are more interested in the personal lives of the girls rather than their "art" . Katseye is part of some app ran by their company where you can watch exclusive live streams, send personal messages idk just weird parasocial stuff. What kind of real musician makes an app to see them do live streams in their bedroom. That has nothing to do with what they are apparently selling. Because they're not selling music they're selling the girls and it's disgusting. Their fans are all kids who don't understand any better . I've watched many katseye music videos, there's an ad or celebrity cameo in almost every one I'm not lying. Their latest mv had a tic tac ad, their animal mv had a Bose earbuds placement, Jollibee, demi Moore cameo. What kind of music video requires an ad. Katseye, all they do is ads. They have a super bowl ad with state farm. What the hell does katseye know about insurance. What does katseyes audience have to do with insurance because I guarantee they are not old enough to even know what that is. And still, katseye markets to gullible kids! Katseye fans will literally take anything given out to them. They don't care they literally will consume the most sloppiest slop ever and convince themselves it's good. I don't know maybe I'm just dramatic but I think katseye is being used to train our taste in media to have lower standards, and higher loyaltym because katseye is literally shit doodoo music with crazy fans. They're making the music shitty because shitty music is easier and faster to put out so they're trying to train your ears to enjoy it. I truly feel like katseye has made my siblings into bratty kids who consume anything given to them by an idol they like. It's just like television how shows back then we're slower paced and less stimulating now everything's just in your face crazy. It really makes me so upset every single day idk with just the stress ofbthe world rn, I can't turn to escapism in the media now because the media has gotten so horrible to. There's nowhere new for me to go because everything has become a business there's no soul in anything I feel like I'm living in a simulated world and katseye is what manifests out of that simulated world. Im very sorry if I was confusing! I am not a perfect writer, I don't know how to convey my feelings into words well but idk. The media we watch shapes us and I don't like how the new media being put out towards children is this. And the fact katseye fans cannot understand or see how katseye might be shitty music or anything just shows how normalized lazy greedy work has been shoved into us and we're supposed to like it. and it keeps getting put out to us because we've started liking it now! Im not gonna go into full detail why because I don't really have a set reason but I think listening to shitty music correlates to ur intelligence and to see everyone get dumber and dumber with music is so upsetting. It makes me so upset I cry about it bc to me it really is that serious to me. I think they are sloptraining your children
