I got insulted for finding a fan interaction odd

Made a comment on an X post about a NMIXX fansign interaction, and I'm honestly frustrated by how quickly a harmless difference of opinion turned into people insulting me.

A clip was posted of a fan at an NMIXX fansign wearing a sweater with a sports bra underneath. When the fan approached Haewon (NMIXX), Haewon asked her to open her sweater so she could see the sports bra. From what I understand, this fan is a regular attendee and Haewon is familiar with her, so I have no reason to believe the fan was uncomfortable. It seemed like a playful interaction between two people who know each other.

I commented that I personally thought it was a weird thing to ask a fan to do in front of a bunch of people. The person who posted the clip explained that Haewon is very close and personal with fans and that this is just part of her personality. I understood where they were coming from and told them that I love and adore all of the NMIXX members but I still personally found the interaction odd.

Then someone else who wasn't even part of the original conversation called me "overly conservative."

I explained that I'm not a very social person to begin with, along with being autistic, so I know I can perceive certain interactions differently from other people. There are plenty of harmless things people do socially that I personally find unusual simply because they're things I would never do myself. I also made it clear that I never said Haewon shouldn't have done it, that she did anything wrong, or that the fan was uncomfortable.

After explaining all of that, another person responded to me with "stfu b*tch-"

And this is what actually bothers me about the whole situation. I can understand someone disagreeing with me. I can understand someone thinking the interaction was completely normal, especially given the relationship between Haewon and the fan. I don't expect everyone to see it the way I do.

What I don't understand is why my having a different reaction has to become a judgment about me.

I can love NMIXX and still find one particular interaction unusual. I can understand why someone else enjoys that kind of interaction while knowing that I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing something similar. Finding something unusual isn't the same as saying it was wrong, inappropriate, or that the people involved shouldn't have done it.

I'm not asking anyone to agree with me about the interaction. I'm asking why we can't simply acknowledge that people perceive social interactions differently without turning that disagreement into insults or assumptions about someone's character.

EDIT: I guess the main thing I'm trying to discuss here is how quickly some people are willing to jump to insults over even the slightest difference in opinion. I think it's completely fine for people to disagree or see a situation differently, but I don't understand why that so often seems to turn into hostility toward the person expressing the opinion. I don't think that kind of response helps create a healthy community or reflects well on the fandom.

Ateez's new song "BAD" is making me a teensy tiny bit weird....

I'm not sure if this is a rant, but I wanna be honest and say this: I love Ateez's new release in terms of how catchy it is... But the fetishisation (? not sure if that's the right word) of Latina women is kind of creeping me out.

Now, I'm not Latina; I'm Asean, and I dont have the right to criticise them for a culture that is not mine... But I'm kind of creeped out. Let women be women!! Latina women can be sexy, but the way they're describing this woman to be "spicy, exotic, fresh" is kind of putting me off.

If anyone would like to correct me on this, feel free to! Just keep it civilised, though.

Edit: I would just like to say... To me, this isn't that serious, but it was just a thought in the back of my mind, I was really unsure whether the song was about a specific woman (which now looking back... it's so obivous ToT), I get that this is late... Like really late, and I didn't need to make my own post, I just didn't rlly do that much research and just said what I was thinking... Have a nice day guys!

5th gen underdogs 🔥🔥

Why the hell are MEOVV and BOYNEXTDOOR not getting the recognition they deserve?? It's crazy how they're considered nugu by some fans when their discography is amazing and most of their performances are always sung live without a crazy loud backtrack. They're definitely one of the best in 5th gen yall should not be sleeping on them

It isn't just a BTS problem. Some thoughts on toxic stan culture Vs. accountability.

Quick CW: Some discussion of racism and misogyny

This is my first post. Let me know if I'm posting in the wrong place 🫶

As somebody who has been into Kpop for the better part of 16 years, I've hesitated to engage with the Kpop community at large because of how toxic Kpop stans can be in defending their idols when they do objectively bad things. The fallout of RM and j-hope attending a Chris Brown concert is indicative of a larger issue within the Kpop industry. Idols are not truly being held accountable for their problematic behavior. In fact, they are often receiving unwavering support from much of their fanbases despite repeated instances of unapologetically shameful behavior. I want to talk about the BTS situation as an example, but it's not unique to BTS. I've seen this kind of behavior in almost every fandom. My purpose here is not to blindly hate on BTS, critique all Army, or lump them all into one group, but to undertake a broader discussion about the Kpop industry, and how toxically some fans engage with stan culture, using the current situation as an example.

Most Kpop fans can see why it might be wrong to attend the concert of a known abusive individual, but that hasn't stopped a subsect of Army from vehemently defending BTS by dog-piling on anybody who attempts to educate people and hold the members accountable. This is a tale as old as time with many Kpop stans across many fandoms. People go to war in comments sections to defend their idols, even if the idols are clearly in the wrong. The reason I bring up BTS specifically is because I've seen it happen time and time again whenever BTS comes under scrutiny.

Most of the Army embroiled in these conversations are employing the age-old tosic Kpop stan excuse of "guys 🥹 they're Korean 🥹 they don't know any better!” A rehash of the infantalizing logic used again and again to defend problematic behavior in idols. They act as if their idols are pure, untouched by the world, as if they aren't adults with unrestricted internet access. These are the same excuses some Army use to defend BTS when people bring up members’ past use of the N word, colorist comments, performance of songs with misogynistic lyrics, and cultural appropriation. Again, it's not just Army who do this. This is a problem across fandoms. Korean idols are constantly infantilized by their fanbases due to a simplistic, flattened view of Korean people and culture that usually comes from only engaging with South Korean culture on a surface level, and is candidly, quite fetishistic.

South Korea has a very large alt right movement and massive issues with racism and misogyny, as well as many other political and societal issues. If you dig into anything about South Korean culture outside of Kpop, Kdramas, and KBBQ, it's not hard to find information about these systemic issues. These idols' questionable acts aren't simple, ignorant oopsies. This is indicative of a larger problem that is present in every aspect of the Kpop industry. That is absolutely not to say that all Koreans are racist or misogynistic, or to say that any other country is free from these systemic issues. It's simply to say that it is no more surprising or unfathomable that a Korean person may be racist or misogynistic than it is to say an American might be racist or misogynistic. To excuse this kind of conduct due to an idol being Korean is honestly insulting to the many Korean people who are not like this in the slightest.

The members of BTS are almost all in their 30s. Why are we acting like these men were born yesterday? "They didn't know," is a ridiculous excuse that crumbles under the slightest bit of analysis. The BTS members have been to the US…several times. They have been online, they have access to the same internet as you and me, and they know black culture well enough to appropriate it, which many Army explain as a homage, but how are they going to pay homage to a culture they supposedly don't know anything about? Which is it, do they know black culture, or do they not? What are they, Schrodinger's culture vultures?

When discussions take place about BTS members’ problematic behavior, some Army will say, "But they apologized!" but apologies don't mean much when you continue to engage in and profit off of the behavior you were asked to apologize for. This Chris Brown situation is not surprising in the slightest because many Kpop fans are more likely to hold their idols accountable for smoking cigarettes than they are for misogyny or racism. The toxically high expectations fans have of their idols only seem to apply when an idol wants to date, smoke cigarettes, or if they gain a bit of weight. It seems like idols are permitted by some fans to participate in whatever dubious behavior they like, just so long as they stay skinny and maintain the illusion of being romantically available to their fanbase.

The Kpop industry, many Kpop artists, and some Kpop stans have major issues with anti-blackness, homophobia, Islamophobia, fatphobia, and misogyny. The anti-blackness, in particular, is wild because Kpop has always been derivative of black culture. That's something you have to contend with and acknowledge to be a Kpop fan. Nothing these groups are doing is groundbreaking in the broader context of music. It's often just black music in a shiny and sharply-produced new package with fun choreographies that are also, as it happens, largely inspired by black culture. Almost every pop song, Korean or otherwise, owes its sound to black music and black culture. If you regularly listen to music made by black people, you know this. I find that many Kpop fans say they don’t listen to music made by black people though, sometimes stating it's "too aggressive," all the while listening to noisy ass Kpop. While I often see this sentiment paired with blatant racism, I'm sure for many it's not a conscious choice to refuse to listen to black artists in particular, but I think it's worth noting that if you think this way you probably have some internalized biases you need to work through, and I'm not talking about the fun kind of bias.

It seems that somehow we got lost and collectively decided that we can't enjoy good things made by imperfect people. Instead of grappling with that belief and breaking down why we think that way, some Kpop stans instead do everything they can to defend their idols and maintain their squeaky clean image, even if they’re actively causing harm in doing so. They deny any allegations of problematic behavior that come out against their idols by forcibly silencing the people who are trying to hold the artists and their companies to a higher standard. This isn't unique to Kpop stan culture, but many Kpop stans are particularly egregious in the way they do it. They will bully people and dismiss their concerns, doing everything in their power to make people believe they are absurd for daring to think critically about who they support. These types of stans do such impressive mental gymnastics, they ought to receive an Olympic gold medal in Delusion. They are willfully ignorant to the cultural contexts of their idols’ problematic behavior. Their strategy is the online equivalent of putting their fingers in their ears and saying “NA NA NA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!” while the rest of us attempt to contribute to a nuanced conversation. It's noise pollution with the express purpose of drowning out rational criticism so they don't have to admit that maybe their bias isn't actually perfect.

It's okay to like something and still be critical of it. You don't have to defend your bias tooth and nail. You can demand better behavior from them and still like their music. In fact, I'd say that wanting to see your favorite artist be held accountable and become a better person, learn, and grow actually makes you a better fan than the people who blindly excuse problematic behavior in order to defend their idols. The reason I say this is because holding artists accountable makes it more feasible that they will learn and do better in the future, making it less likely for them to be the subject of scrutiny and scandal for similar behavior later down the line. It also does so without alienating and belittling other fans who may have been hurt by the idols' behavior. You don't have to defend nefarious conduct to ensure your idol's success, and you don't need to silence, gaslight, or dismiss other fans who expect more from the artists they support. You can support an artist and still expect them to be good people.

As an NSWER witnessing the weaponization of NMIXX is incredibly frustrating

For those of you fortunate enough to be unaware NMIXX has become the go-to group for Kpop fans to attack anyone they deem undeserving of their success, "Your faves have no artistic integrity like NMIXX", "Your faves can't sing like NMIXX", "Your faves aren't culturally sensitive like NMIXX". You would probably have an easier time counting the number of groups that haven't been compared NMIXX.

While ego stans are inevitable in any fandom most fans are mature and intelligent enough to understand that using your faves to bash and shame other groups is counter intuitive to getting people to actually like your faves, and most NMIXX fans understand and discourage this behavior. The issue is most people who propagate these attacks aren't even fans of NMIXX. They're casual enjoyers AT BEST who've never contributed more than the three cents their total streams amount to, and would rather use NMIXX as a dagger for a quick dopamine hit while they shit on the group they dislike.

How do I know most of these people have never bought an album? Because these shade posts get 2 - 3 times as many likes and upvotes as any posts made by the official NMIXX account. You can also tell because a lot of these people straight up sound like they're shading both groups - "Gwuyz 😂 why are NMIXX swuper irrelevant and not more popular than untalented [insert group name]? 🤭"

I would never condone hate and I would destroy your ego if I see you hating on my faves, however I can completely understand if fans of any other groups have negative feelings towards NMIXX because I might feel the same way if they were the salt in my emotional wounds.

Buying kpop resale tickets on twitter has actually become a full-time job

is it just me or has trying to buy a resale ticket from another fan literally become a full-time job? like i feel like i need an FBI background check just to buy a nosebleed ticket.

I’ve been trying to find a decent seat for an upcoming tour (mostly because ticketmaster sold out in literally three seconds) and i have spent the last week wading through twitter. i swear its taken years off my life. it used to feel like you were just helping out another fan who couldn't go. now, every single DM feels like a minefield.

You have to ask for screen recordings with the current time and their username in the frame. you have to check their account to see if they're a bot. then they immediately push for Zelle or Apple Pay. the second you mention PayPal G&S, they either completely ghost you or hit you with some long story about how their account got locked. it’s literally the exact same script every single time.

tbh it’s just the sheer amount of energy it takes. i'm not even that worried about losing the money at this point, im just so tired of the paranoia. i'm tired of analyzing every screenshot for weird pixels or weird fonts to see if it's photoshopped. i'm tired of trying to decide if someone is a genuine fan or a professional scammer who knows all the right lingo. my excitement for the concert is slowly being replaced by pure stress.

at this point i’m starting to think the extra fees on a secondary platform are worth it just for the peace of mind. i've spent hours trying to save maybe fifty bucks, and the mental drain just isn't worth it anymore. i've basically given up on twitter and started comparing actual resale sites like StubHub, SeatGeek, and Veritickets. the prices are higher because of the fees, but at least there’s some actual buyer protection and i don't have to spend my evening interrogating a stranger.

I guess im just going to have to bite the bullet and pay the stupid fees. does anyone know if platforms like veritickets or seatgeek deliver the transfer instantly or is there still a delay? i am so done with this lol

Hypersexualization is NOT the problem with katseye

Hypersexualization is not the problem with katseye

Their sexual lyrics outfits and dances are not the problem. Many singers and artists have successfully rebranded in the past from child friendly to adult like miley cyrus for example. So going from touch to pinky up is not the problem imo.

The problem is that theyre STILL marketing to kids.

Even my little cousins still listen and follow katseye.

In the new hootie frutti music video theyre marketing slime and tictac while the camera aggressively zooms in on their body parts.

Ofcourse, its a brazillian funk, its gonna be sexual. Im personally all for this genre too, love these kinda songs.

But if youre gonna go from kid friendly to full on adult, do it right and commit. Dont be half in and half out or youre gonna make it weird. The company just wants to profit from both the target audiences without caring about the issues it creates, and it shows.

Most of the girls seem to enjoy their newer vibe and outfits, and i wanna ask people not to shame them for it. Ive seen comments about ppl shaming the girls for like the twerking choreos and short revealing outfits.

But its their personal taste and vibe, theyre allowed to like these things and be their own person. In a lot of their cultures, this is the norm too and not a culture shock.

I dont think the problem is the girls, its the way theyre being marketed.

This controversy is gonna make them super talked about in the short term and make the company a ton of money, but their doomed to fall after so much hate.

And its honestly SO sad and such a loss. In my personal opinion, a group of girls with so much chemistry, and complimenting talent is so rare. They have so much potential.

Katseye is rotting peoples minds and it's making me go crazy.

sorry!!! Reposted from another sub so I'm explaining it different than how I'd do it here.

I made an account just to share this but I have younger siblings who love katseye. They are so insanely parasocial I cannot understand it. They have never had a connection to a celebrity like katseye. They've never had any extreme connection to a celebrity at all until now. I will be talking to them about how I think katseye sucks and they will get so defensive they start getting physical on me. I have no idea what has gotten into them for them to be so possessive and weird over this group that they are getting aggressive with me over it. After this I started research on katseye to at least get an idea of what is so enticing about them. To me nothing. Their music is some of the most horrible I've ever heard. The lyrics have no driving purpose anything I cannot comprehend how these songs are being listened to. The music is so repetitive I don't know why official music terms or anything but the melodies are so simple and repetitive it sounds like Ai. Katseye started out by some tv show game where regular ppl submit online auditions in hopes of going to the show to compete to join katseye. But all of the contestants have rich parents/ industry connections. So they lied about taking real auditions. There's girls in the group who were on America's got talent as children. I know that Kpop is kind of strictly industry planted but I cannot believe this level of inauthenticity in music.not everything has to be some true story deep bs, I know but this is just so manufactured there's not even a hint of humanity in it. Katseye is so artificial Its like if wonder bread were music. The music. I've realized how katseye is not selling music or art it's selling the girls. My siblings are more interested in the personal lives of the girls rather than their "art" . Katseye is part of some app ran by their company where you can watch exclusive live streams, send personal messages idk just weird parasocial stuff. What kind of real musician makes an app to see them do live streams in their bedroom. That has nothing to do with what they are apparently selling. Because they're not selling music they're selling the girls and it's disgusting. Their fans are all kids who don't understand any better . I've watched many katseye music videos, there's an ad or celebrity cameo in almost every one I'm not lying. Their latest mv had a tic tac ad, their animal mv had a Bose earbuds placement, Jollibee, demi Moore cameo. What kind of music video requires an ad. Katseye, all they do is ads. They have a super bowl ad with state farm. What the hell does katseye know about insurance. What does katseyes audience have to do with insurance because I guarantee they are not old enough to even know what that is. And still, katseye markets to gullible kids! Katseye fans will literally take anything given out to them. They don't care they literally will consume the most sloppiest slop ever and convince themselves it's good. I don't know maybe I'm just dramatic but I think katseye is being used to train our taste in media to have lower standards, and higher loyaltym because katseye is literally shit doodoo music with crazy fans. They're making the music shitty because shitty music is easier and faster to put out so they're trying to train your ears to enjoy it. I truly feel like katseye has made my siblings into bratty kids who consume anything given to them by an idol they like. It's just like television how shows back then we're slower paced and less stimulating now everything's just in your face crazy. It really makes me so upset every single day idk with just the stress ofbthe world rn, I can't turn to escapism in the media now because the media has gotten so horrible to. There's nowhere new for me to go because everything has become a business there's no soul in anything I feel like I'm living in a simulated world and katseye is what manifests out of that simulated world. Im very sorry if I was confusing! I am not a perfect writer, I don't know how to convey my feelings into words well but idk. The media we watch shapes us and I don't like how the new media being put out towards children is this. And the fact katseye fans cannot understand or see how katseye might be shitty music or anything just shows how normalized lazy greedy work has been shoved into us and we're supposed to like it. and it keeps getting put out to us because we've started liking it now! Im not gonna go into full detail why because I don't really have a set reason but I think listening to shitty music correlates to ur intelligence and to see everyone get dumber and dumber with music is so upsetting. It makes me so upset I cry about it bc to me it really is that serious to me. I think they are sloptraining your children

Armys are the most misogynistic fandom ever

Genuinely what was happening last week ? Bts members attended Chris browns concert and showed support by posting it , supporting a literal misogynistic abuser , i always had this perspective about bts being misogynistic but was silent and now its getting out of hand , most of the armys are girls i dont understand how they can still idolize and defend these grown ass men , armys know chris brown is an abuser , bts knows what Chris brown did yet they still show appreciation towards chris brown and attend his concert and armys still lick these men's toe , imagine if it was Jennie or Daniela , they would send these women to hell but its all ok when bts does it , another issue is jungkook's crazy parasocial fans never leaving Winter alone , they started rumors it was never confirmed to be true yet she received hate , death threats and god knows what , i know its not jungkook's fault but he could have spoke up about it , what did winter do? She was just existing its his fans who were threatening her so it was his responsibility to say something about it in public but no , he does nothing and poor winter is still getting hates and insults to this day , it just enrages me

U all the downvotes i am getting 😭😭

Spoiling songs by over exposure.

Probably unpopular opinion: I'm tired of groups posting dozens of dance challenges before the song even comes out. That's is, that's my whole rant but I'll explain.

Yes, I realize that it's for marketing, hype, visibility, etc. And maybe most people like it. But for me personally, hearing the same 15 second clip over and over doesn't make me interested, it makes me annoyed. And yes, I do try to avoid it, but fans use the clips in their own content so basically unless I avoid everything related to the group, I'll hear it. A lot.

Stray Kids did it with T&T, and Enhypen's been doing it with Bloody Paradise. I've lost any anticipation for the comeback, because what's left to look forward to? I've seen or heard it all. Just the MV is left, and these days MV's are generally underwhelming.

I don't normally post over here, I don't know what the vibes are, I just came across one too many dance challenges and wanted to get it off my chest lol.

What is going on with kpop this year?

Genuinely, it feels like every other week there’s a member leaving a group, going on hiatus, contract issues, or some huge controversy. And I mean across different groups, not just one particular situation

We’re only halfway through the year and it already feels like sooooo much has happened.

Am I the only one feeling like 2026 has been unusually chaotic for kpop?

Why do we treat member departures as the end of a group?

Okay, this is something I’ve been thinking about for a while, and I’m curious if other people feel the same way.
Why do we automatically assume that when a member leaves a group, the group is basically “over” or that everything after that is somehow worse?
Like, obviously, a member leaving can change the group a LOT. Sometimes the chemistry changes, the sound changes, the dynamics feel different, and yeah, it can be hard for fans to adjust. Especially if that member was a big part of the group’s identity.
But at the same time… why do we sometimes act like the group can never recover?
There are groups where members have left and the remaining members actually found a new balance, developed a different sound, or even became more successful afterwards. It doesn’t necessarily mean the member who left wasn’t important. It just means the group evolved.
And honestly, I think fans sometimes get so attached to the original lineup that any change automatically feels like a downgrade.
You’ll see people saying stuff like “the group hasn’t been the same since X left” for YEARS, even when the group is still releasing good music, selling well and clearly has a strong fanbase.
At some point, shouldn’t we accept that a group can have different eras?
The original lineup can be iconic AND the new lineup can still be good. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.
Obviously, there are also cases where a member leaving genuinely hurts the group badly, especially if they were the main vocalist, main producer, leader, etc. So I’m not saying every group magically becomes better after losing members.
But I’m curious:
Do you think K-pop fans are too attached to the “original lineup”?
And are there any groups where you actually think the group became stronger after a member left? 👀
I feel like this could get messy lmao 💀

To all K-pop fans, please take a moment to read this urgent message!

Hello, I am a K-POP fan, and I am also a South Korean citizen. South Korea is currently in a state of crisis. The president is threatening to take away citizens' freedoms by announcing absurdity-driven legislative changes (such as restrictions on basic rights, CBDC, etc.).

Furthermore, the possibility of war is currently extremely high, with North Korea warning of a southward invasion and coming down near the Demarcation Line to launch missiles. However, in the case of South Korea, its military power has been weakened—including the dissolution of the Defense Counterintelligence Command and military disarming—due to a corrupt regime.

I am afraid. The peace of our artists and the people of South Korea is being threatened. Please share this crisis with your country and your followers so that our artists can perform safely.

(Not hate!!) Katseye can be sexy, but they're being sexy in a way that markets to kids and it's...

Basically the title!! I saw the new music video for hootie frutti and some of the discussions that were going down about the video, how katseye should stop being sexy, how they should be sexy, wtv.

My take is that they need to pick a side with their branding, to be completely honest. Like this mv was obviously inspired by Slave4U, I think that's even been confirmed officially. And if we take out the exploitation that happens in the pop industry, there's nothing wrong with having a sexy concept.

But honestly comparing the two videos, are we being so fr guys?? Do we really think that katseye is not for the kids to get into??? The sexy vibe in Slave4U is like... not being intercut with childish fruit euphemisms or a product placement for slime. And idk what kind of brand deals Britney had when she was big, but it didn't touch her art in a way that has lasted to the modern day imo. And teens were still into her im sure so why are we targeting Gen alpha rn?? And slave4u is a much better song I'm sorry.

I think what makes people so uncomfortable with Katseye's transition in branding can honestly be attributed to this weird trichotomy between tiktok brain rot vibes that a child would enjoy, mediocre promo tracks, and the attempt to be sexy throughout. That and the blatant product placement, which makes it feel extremely manufactured in a cheap way. It makes you think more about cases of confirmed exploitation and it becomes harder to say "well they want to do it" when their label is slapping an obvious, noticable ad right in the middle of their mv.

It's unfortunately stunting their artistry, which is unfortunate because I do believe all of the members are talented. Idk maybe this is a cold take but it just keeps bugging me and I dont even follow katseye like that

Katseye Hootie Frutti

Let's talk about Katseye Hootie Frutti. Geffen is obeessssed with these girls making them twerk for no reason all the time in their songs. Can we also talk about how 75% of the fans are literal kids ?? Their music has unwanted noise pollution and it's always about food too! The music video made me so uncomfy why are they zooming into ass, thighs, backs ? Like I can't believe katseye is no longer kid friendly. But Lara's part was mesmerizing her vocals are amazing. These girls deserve better songs.

Rescene: The Viral Stuff Must STOP

As a person that listened to rescene before going viral, I respected them. However as of late, they have been making 100s of people mad just like the Argentina situation in the Fifa World Cup.

Rescene is Argentina while the other groups like Stray Kids and Kiss of Life have gone respected for eachother. Changbin and Natty has grew a bond together and I found that touching for both groups. I get not all shows require the music video views but domestic views for Stray Kids has doubled from 2024 to now. I declare that starting next week, we need to have new voting systems and a way to have international people involved for fairness and also international voting.

This way, we will have fun and chaos.

I hope rescene learns their lesson from messing with the wrong Fandom (This is not my word, this is from a STAY on my discord server who said this).

Thank You 😊

BTS has seriously disappointed me this time!

First collaboration with Gemini then RM and Jhope going to Chris Brown's concert. Some Armys are like "just because they are going to their concert doesn't mean they are supporting him" man this sounds so stupid. They paid money to see him, posted stories with him.this is what supporting means.. and don't give me the bullshit "xyz went to their concert too blah blah" .BTS is way bigger than them .BTS knows how influential they are and going to CB's concert is beyond disappointing when 85% of this fandom consists of women. I'm not saying that the death threats for it is valid but the critisism is actually so deserved. It is not just a simple concert it's literally Chris Brown the man who have assaulted Rihanna and multiple other women.

RM and Jhope didn't even state anything after this mess honestly it simply makes me feel like they just don't care. What hurts most is some women are defending them saying it's their life yeah it is their private lives but the moment you decide to share stories about going to someone's concert you are presenting to a lot of people what are you doing. Ofcourse the critisism is deserved.

Apologies are bare minimum for offensive behavior, idols don’t need pity for having to say they’re sorry

Ive seen multiple times when an idol will do something culturally and racially insensitive, I don’t mean scenarios where they’re in the right but where they’ve deadass messed up and it’s wrong to everyone.

Apologies are the bare minimum, wether it was intentionally or not an apology is the easiest thing you can do. H2h are not victims for having to apologize for the wig. YOU may not see an issue with it but remember it’s not abt you. They’ve seen the issue and they moved to apologize to the ppl they did hurt.

And that’s the bare minimum, it’s not a punishment to have to apologize to someone you have wronged, its literally the easiest thing to do. Don’t make ppl vilains for expecting idols to show remorse for their behavior

my honest opinion on the BTS situation

I have defended BTS in the past and I do still consider myself an army, however, with the new situation going on with J-hope and RM, I find it hard to listen to their music.

I have been a fan of BTS since June 2024. I know I am considered a "baby" army, but they were my inspiration to dive deep into other kpop boy bands(nct, cortis, ENHYPEN, skz, txt, tws, boynextdoor, ateez) and they were the reason I wanted to become a kpop idol.

Now, with my understanding, RM and J-hope recently attended a Usher concert in Canada, which featured Chris Brown, and they posted it on their stories. They also met and took pictures with Chris Brown as well, which should be on J-hopes Instagram.

If you didn't know, Chris Brown is an abuser who almost killed Rihanna, had several SA cases, struck his producer with an alcohol bottle, punched Frank Ocean, and also abused several other women.

As an army, this is disappointing not only because the majority of BTS stans are female, but also because BTS built their fanbase off of love, loving others, telling people to love themselves, and telling them how much they love their fans and how important they are to them. Not to mention Namjoon(RM) telling armys he reads books about feminism and support for women.

Namjoon in that situation sounds like a hypocrite, because Namjoon went to a concert where the singer abused women while also claiming he himself is a feminist.

I still love BTS, and their music is amazing and angelic to me, but until atleast an apology is stated I will not listen to their music.

I am a women before I am a kpop fan.
