Anyone else spend longer finding the idea than actually making the short?

Anyone else spend longer finding the idea than actually making the short?

I've got way too many short videos saved and somehow still end up staring at a blank prompt every time I wanna make something.

Half the problem is I know why I saved a video when I see it, but then I try to describe the movement + timing in words and completely lose whatever made it work.

Been trying Viral Remix lately instead. I just drop in the reference video, add my own character, and use that as the starting point for a new version.

Honestly I like this way more than trying to explain every little movement from scratch. I still change the character and visuals, but at least I'm not starting from an empty box.

Feels like a much more natural way for me to use an ai video maker.

Does anyone else work from saved references like this or are you still mostly prompting from scratch?

I don't know what to do anymore

Waking up everyday is overwhelming for me. I don't know when it started, probably when I got into uni, but it's been overwhelming just waking up. Work, studying, thesis, etc. These things have done nothing but give me anxiety.

It's a cycle. I get motivated to do work, then there comes a point where I feel overwhelmed immediately, so I stay in bed, which gives me more work, and then I get overwhelmed again.

It's gotten so bad that I sometimes think that ending it all is easier now, and that scares me a bit.

Buying kpop resale tickets on twitter has actually become a full-time job

is it just me or has trying to buy a resale ticket from another fan literally become a full-time job? like i feel like i need an FBI background check just to buy a nosebleed ticket.

I’ve been trying to find a decent seat for an upcoming tour (mostly because ticketmaster sold out in literally three seconds) and i have spent the last week wading through twitter. i swear its taken years off my life. it used to feel like you were just helping out another fan who couldn't go. now, every single DM feels like a minefield.

You have to ask for screen recordings with the current time and their username in the frame. you have to check their account to see if they're a bot. then they immediately push for Zelle or Apple Pay. the second you mention PayPal G&S, they either completely ghost you or hit you with some long story about how their account got locked. it’s literally the exact same script every single time.

tbh it’s just the sheer amount of energy it takes. i'm not even that worried about losing the money at this point, im just so tired of the paranoia. i'm tired of analyzing every screenshot for weird pixels or weird fonts to see if it's photoshopped. i'm tired of trying to decide if someone is a genuine fan or a professional scammer who knows all the right lingo. my excitement for the concert is slowly being replaced by pure stress.

at this point i’m starting to think the extra fees on a secondary platform are worth it just for the peace of mind. i've spent hours trying to save maybe fifty bucks, and the mental drain just isn't worth it anymore. i've basically given up on twitter and started comparing actual resale sites like StubHub, SeatGeek, and Veritickets. the prices are higher because of the fees, but at least there’s some actual buyer protection and i don't have to spend my evening interrogating a stranger.

I guess im just going to have to bite the bullet and pay the stupid fees. does anyone know if platforms like veritickets or seatgeek deliver the transfer instantly or is there still a delay? i am so done with this lol

My PhD procrastination problem forced me to change how I do literature reviews

Second-year ML PhD here, and I keep falling into the same trap whenever I start looking into a new research direction.

I tell myself I just need to read a few papers before I start testing anything.

A few papers becomes 10, then 20, and suddenly I have 30–40 PDFs, way too many highlights, and a Notion page full of notes but still no actual experiment.

The weird part is that it feels productive the whole time. I’m reading, comparing methods, taking notes, but if someone asks me what I’m actually going to test, the answer is usually still pretty vague.

This time I tried forcing myself to stop treating literature review and experiment design as two completely separate stages.

I was looking at recent work on alternative attention mechanisms for low-resource setups, and instead of trying to understand everything, I focused on a few things: common baselines, metrics, differences in experimental setup, and places where the results didn’t seem totally settled. I also used mira by deep principle to help me get through some of the paper comparison work. Mostly just because doing the same kind of breakdown across 30+ papers manually was getting old.

I actually ended up with a few hypotheses, a baseline, and a rough experiment plan instead of another giant pile of notes.

Still need to write the code and find out whether any of it survives contact with reality lol.

How do you guys decide when you’ve read enough and should just start testing?

Suggest me some books like World War Z

I loved how World War Z focused on the impact of the zombies on not just people but on society as a whole, how governments reacted, etc. I would love to know if there are more books that are like this!

How do I actually get better?

Just as the title says. I wanna get better. I want to stop berating myself every time I make a mistake. I want to look at a mirror and not be disgusted by myself. I just don't know how to do it.

The AI notetaker I wear to study groups that saved me from scrambling for a notebook when my mind wanders

I have the hardest time keeping up in study groups. I have ADHD, so someone explains a concept and I drift off before they finish the example. When I snap back they're on the next problem and I'm digging for a notebook buried in my bag.

I tried typing notes on my phone. I couldn't keep up. I'd still be writing the first sentence and they'd already moved on to the third problem. Whatever I captured barely had the actual point in it.

Someone in my weekly biochem study group had a small clip on her hoodie. I asked after she pulled up a summary from our last session. She said it was a wearable AI note taker and sent me the link. I didn't buy one immediately. But she was kind enough to let me use it for a couple study groups first, and I looked into it more on my own before eventually getting one. I now clip it on before study group .

I miss a lot while zoned out. Everything still records, but when something breaks through, like someone saying "this is on the test" or I snap back mid-explanation, I tap once before I drift again. After we pack up I start with those flagged bits. It's not perfect, but it's helped more than anything else I've tried. So for anyone else with ADHD, how do you keep up in study groups when your mind wanders?

Which channels can help small businesses improve conversion rate?

Hey everyone,

I run a small business making custom 3D printed pet figurines, where customers can create exclusive products based on their pets' unique characteristics.

Currently, I primarily sell through platforms like tiktok and facebook. These platforms have certainly helped me gain some exposure and orders, but I've found the purchasing process for custom products to be rather complex. Customers often need to communicate with me multiple times to confirm details before placing an order.

I'm considering building my own website so customers can directly select customization options, upload reference images, and complete their orders online. I hope this will reduce time spent on manual communication and simplify the entire purchasing process for customers.

My budget is limited, so I'm looking for some website building options at a low cost. Someone suggested I check out AccioWork's AI website building webinar on August 13th, which I might attend.

For small businesses, which channels or methods have truly helped improve conversion rates?

Is dating always this confusing? How do you actually get to know someone?

A few months ago, I started talking to someone i match with. We had great chemistry, and I used acciowork to help me come up with conversation topics like relationships, careers, skiing, and golf.

We get along really well. We usually go on dates twice a week, have dinner together, and spend time at his place. It doesn't feel like just a casual hookup, which is why I'm even more confused.

The problem is that his attitude is so inconsistent. Some days he talks nonstop and seems very interested, but other times he disappears and doesn't text for two days. We're now in our third month of dating, and nothing has really progressed.

I finally asked him how he sees our relationship, but he just went quiet.

Is modern dating always this unclear? How do you actually get to know someone and build something real when everything feels so uncertain?

AntLing-3.0-flash on OpenRouter: 124B/5.1B MoE, FREE UNTIL AUG 3

Some of you already spotted Ant here when Elephant alpha on OpenRouter turned out to be Ling-2.6-flash. This is the next one, AntLing-3.0-flash, 124B total with 5.1B active, about 24:1 sparse, 256K context, TTFT under 100ms.

Against GLM-4.6 in an agent loop, does a ratio that sparse hold up?

API-only this time though. 2.6-flash shipped under MIT, this one does not come with weights at all. FREE UNTIL AUG 3 is from inclusionAI's launch announcement, the OpenRouter listing itself shows no end date.

Davinci or Premiere?

I've been trying to find editing jobs now for a few weeks and I've been unsuccessful. I am a beginner and i plan on finding jobs that can help with padding my portfolio however I use davinci resolve, and so far, all the editing jobs seem to be looking for premiere editors. Should I just switch to premiere?

Are golf speakers actually worth bringing on the course?

I used to bring a JBL Charge 5 when I played. The sound was great and the battery lasted forever, but honestly it was just a normal Bluetooth speaker. Recently I tried the Mileseey golf speaker with some extra golf features built in, and it got me thinking, is having a speaker made for golf actually useful?

The biggest thing I liked was not having to carry as many things around. Having music and some basic golf info in one device is pretty convenient, especially when riding in a cart. That being said, I know a lot of golfers hate music on the course, especially during serious rounds. Personally, I think it depends on the group and the situation. Casual rounds with friends? Probably fine. Busy course or playing with strangers? I’d probably keep the volume low or skip it. Curious what you guys think, do you usually play music while golfing, or do you prefer no speakers at all?

Iphone died in the middle of charging, now it won't turn on.

I was charging my phone, it was at 16% when it suddenly shut off, no animation or anything, it just turned itself off and is now unresponsive. I left the thing to charge overnight but when I woke up, still unresponsive.

I have to note that the battery health is at 75%. I'm scared though because some searching suggests that it could either be a battery or logic circuit issue. Any idea what should be done here? Thank you!

Which laser rangefinder should i choose?

I am looking for a new golf laser rangefinder and I’m stuck between the shot scope pro lx+ and the mileseey g1.

I’ve been using a basic laser rangefinder I bought on amazon for the past few years and it honestly did the job. Nothing fancy, just something to quickly check distances. Unfortunately, I lost it on the course last week, so now I’m looking for a replacement and wondering if I should upgrade to something with a few more features.

The shot scope pro lx+ caught my attention because I like the idea of tracking my stats and figuring out where I’m actually losing strokes after each round. I kind of know my weak spots, but I don’t really have the data to prove it. The mileseey g1 also looks interesting because it combines a laser rangefinder with GPS, and having hole information right on the screen seems pretty convenient during a round.

I mainly want something reliable for everyday golf, but I’m not sure which feature I’d actually get more value from , detailed stat tracking or having GPS information built directly into the rangefinder. For anyone who has used the shot scope pro lx+ or mileseey g1, which one would you pick if you could only choose one?

AI has completely changed how we learn languages in 2026

I've been learning dutch on and off for about two years. the first year was the classic route. duolingo, textbooks, dutch shows with subtitles, verb tables. it worked for the basics but it was slow and boring and I kept falling into the study-for-two-weeks-then-quit-for-a-month cycle.

then AI tools got genuinely good for languages and everything shifted. started using chatgpt to explain dutch grammar and it gave me better answers in 30 seconds than hours of googling ever did. like someone finally explaining why "er" works the way it does in a way that actually clicked.

But the real game changer has been AI voice tutors. Like there are alot of tools in the market be it Issen, ChatGPT voice mode, even Duolingo adding AI features. everything is moving toward actually talking instead of just tapping on a screen. I've been using Issen for a couple months now for speaking practice, and it honestly feels like something that shouldn't exist yet. just open the app and have a conversation in dutch. it corrects your pronunciation, adjusts to your level, and remembers what you worked on last time. Two years ago, your only option for this was to pay a tutor 30 euros an hour or find a language partner who cancelled half the time. now I do it for 15 minutes every morning and my speaking has improved more in two months than the entire previous year.

the whole landscape just feels different now. if you're starting or stuck at a plateau, I really think you should explore what's out there, because it's a completely different game than it was even 12 months ago.

has AI changed your dutch learning? what are you guys using? curious if I'm the only one who feels like everything shifted this year.

RiiFFS Seasons Rise vs SWY Parfum/Intensely , closer than I expected, but not a 1:1

Been looking properly into Seasons Rise because everyone seems to agree it smells like Stronger With You, but nobody agrees on which Stronger With You lol.

Some call it an SWY Parfum clone.

Some say it is basically Intensely.

Honestly, both sides are right.

The first spray leans much closer to SWY Parfum for me. You get that warm spicy opening with pink pepper, nutmeg and orange blossom instead of immediately getting punched by caramel syrup.

It feels darker and slightly more grown-up at the start. Not identical to Parfum, but definitely heading in that direction.

Then the caramel, toffee and cinnamon start coming through and it slowly shifts.

By the drydown, it feels like somebody took the opening of Parfum, removed some of the darker smoky weight and added a little more of the sweet praline/vanilla thing people love in Intensely.

So the easiest way I can explain it is:

Opening: mostly SWY Parfum\

Mid: Parfum and Intensely hybrid\

Drydown: sweeter, airier and easier-going than Parfum

It is not a 1:1 clone, but I genuinely think that works in its favour.

Parfum is richer, darker and smoother. No argument there. But it can also feel quite heavy and serious depending on where you are wearing it.

Seasons Rise keeps the addictive SWY DNA but feels easier to throw on for a normal winter evening, dinner, date or house party without smelling like you dressed for a black-tie event.

The main thing RiiFFS got right is the balance.

A lot of SWY clones just smell like sweet vanilla, amber and cinnamon with nothing interesting happening between the opening and drydown. Seasons Rise actually changes while you wear it.

The spice is noticeable at the beginning.

The caramel and toffee gradually take over.

Then the vanilla, praline, cashmeran and amber make it warm and comfortable without turning it into straight liquid sugar.

It still smells properly sweet, obviously. Nobody buying something from the SWY family is trying to smell fresh and aquatic.

But it does not become as thick or syrupy as Intensely on me.

Performance

Performance reports on this thing are honestly all over the place.

Some people are getting only a few hours before it sits close to the skin. Other owners are reporting nine or ten hours and finding it on clothes the next day.

The more consistent pattern seems to be:

Strong first couple of hours

A noticeable sweet scent bubble after that

Much better staying power on clothes

Better suited to cool weather than heat

This is definitely not something I would judge from one spray immediately after delivery.

The scent profile itself is the biggest win anyway. Even when people disagree about longevity, most Seasons Rise owners seem to agree that the actual juice smells far more expensive than expected.

And that is where RiiFFS deserves credit.

This does not smell like one of those rough clones where you tolerate the opening because it becomes decent after 30 minutes. The spice, caramel and vanilla feel properly connected from the beginning.

Is it redundant?

If you already own SWY Parfum and Intensely, then yes, probably.

Seasons Rise is not going to reveal some completely new side of this DNA.

But if you like the Stronger With You style and do not want to spend designer money, this is easily one of the more convincing options I have come across.

It gives you enough of Parfum’s darker opening, enough of Intensely’s addictive sweetness and still has a slightly lighter personality of its own.

I also think this would be a better starting point than buying three different SWY clones and hoping one of them finally gets it right.

Final take

Exact SWY Parfum clone? No.

Clearly inspired by SWY Parfum? Yes.

Does the drydown move toward Intensely? Definitely.

Cheap-smelling? Not at all.

Good enough to enjoy without constantly comparing it to Armani? Easily.

Worth considering at clone pricing? 100%.

RiiFFS cooked with this one.

It is probably one of the releases that best proves why the house is getting more attention lately. Not because it perfectly photocopies the original, but because it takes a very popular DNA and makes something that still smells properly put together on its own.

People who have tried all three ,which one do you get more in the drydown: Parfum or Intensely?

Anyone else get disconnected for no reason?

I randomly get disconnected out of the game. With different reasons each time (Van 84, etc). The disconnecting is one issue, the other one is that I can’t log back in without having to restart my machine. The loading bar gets stuck halfway and doesn’t move at all. Anyone else get this issue and have you fixed it?
