Click headline for pics. The two with the low hanging wires are on Bedford St across from Bedford diner. Comical. Duck. Watch your head. I can imagine transferring the wires to the new pole can be tedious and time consuming...but at some point it has to be done. What happens when the second pole needs to be replaced, just attache a third pole. Do better Stamford. Start looking for these situations, it will give you a good chuckle, and you will see they are all over the city. Now, to be fair, the two on Bedford shown have been lifted recently. However, they were like that for years.
Do you want to see more of the illegal parking series in Stamford, or was two enough?
Click to see pics. You may have noticed over the past 5 years or so traffic and parking enforcement has been not been a high priority. Illegal parking is off the charts across the city. Pay attention when you're out and about, it will become painfully evident, and annoying, and traffic inducing. There is no risk in doing so. Delivery app drivers are leading the way as best I can tell. Do you notice this happening? How is it in your neighborhood?
Click for video: $3,000,000 for a public plaza (marketed as a "public plaza") that is nothing more than taxpayer funded outdoor dining space. No sidewalks for you. Food has to be served, pedestrians will be in the way. If some of you weren't convinced from my first post on this topic, the evidence is clear now. This construction was for restaurants. Please, have a dining patio on us. The big winners are the restaurant owners, then presumably the workers, and customers who can afford the prices of Bedford St restaurants. Al fresco dining can be a enjoyable experience. The city should see incremental gains in tax revenue (sales, and property) and fees (for use of space and parking). The losers are the residents (taxpayers) of the downtown area or even all of Stamford who want to walk around downtown or spend time there with others...for free. This space should be filled with charming cafe tables, benches, other seating ideas, where people can sit and talk, sip a beverage, enjoy a take out lunch (perhaps from one of the Bedford St restaurants), or a homemade lunch, surrounded by pedestrians walking freely on proper sidewalks without having to spend $70 or more for two to eat Sysco food. I'm remain opposed to this space being used in this way. What say you?
Tell me if I'm wrong.

Have you noticed a more bumpy ride as you drive around Stamford? There was a push in early Spring to take a low cost swing at improving the roads around the city. Fill in the holes with tar; no more pothole, now a pothump usually due to overfilling and moisture. They don't first clean out the pothole, or remove weak tarmac/pavement. Two truck three man crews slowly walk around the city from hole to hole doing shoddy work. And the noise, with that asphalt plate compactor. C'mon man!

Has anyone else had it with the construction and lane closures on Newfield Ave? I have certainly have. From John's Pizza at 5 Points intersection to the Italian Center north of Sterling Farms gc, there are 8 schools all getting out between 2-3:30 from Sep thru June. This is an afternoon rush hour from 1:30 - 4PM. Hundreds if not thousands of cars hit the roads. This work should have been done during the summer months when fewer cars are traveling from Strawberry Hill up thru Newfield Ave. It's not a very well run city.
