Interview lasted 10 mins

Hi all,

Last week, I was supposed to have a 1 hour interview with a panel.

I mentioned that my goals are not aligned with my current company. However, I think things went rough and short when I started answering about the workload issue that I am currently facing. I was expecting more situational questions but since I opened the workload issue, it was cut short. Further, it resulted to a rejection in the position.

To all HR people here, may I know if this is really a factor? I want to be as honest and candid as possible in an interview.

Did my answer really caused me a lot? How can I answer if the panel digs deep with the alignment of goals?

I just really want to move forward with my career.

Appreciate all your insights.

Government Website programming

Hello,

My brother was contacted by someone from an LGU to create/program a sangguniang bayan website. We know the person, he's a relative but what I want to know is how can my brother be covered or not taken advantage of these lgu people. Moreover, my brother is a fresh CS grad.

Facts:

  1. He had already created a website for the said lgu. He's not yet paid initially for the website he had created. The lgu peeps are not sharing any details to the payment although they said "there's a budget and you will be paid"

  2. He had no contracts with the lgu for how much and what are the scope of the project. This gives leeway to add anything outside of their verbal agreement.

  3. After building the website, there were other lgu peeps who's asking to "change" the domain to .gov.ph. despite my brother mentioning this in the first place when he was just being contacted.

Questions i have:

  1. Are there anyone here who had contracted with lgu to create a website?

  2. How much is the current market of creating website? Maintaining the website?

  3. Do you have any template for the contract?

  4. Should we reach out to a lawyer for proper contract?

Any insight is truly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Pagibig socialized housing

Hello, what are your thoughts with pagibig socialized housing?

I'm a single, lower middle class income earner. I am thinking of living alone and be independent. No big savings and I dont know if I can manage to acquire a property via socialized housing. I am really not a fan of condo living but this is one of the closest option to having a property on my own. I want to avoid renting as well.

Questions in my head includes the following:

  1. Is it worth it to invest/apply for pagibig socialized housing?

  2. Are the units good or like not substandard?

  3. I read that it is open for everyone, so is it safe in terms of the neighbors that I might have? (One comment I saw was low budget housing = low budget neighbors???)

  4. Can you choose a specific unit?

All other thoughts are very much welcome. Please enlighten me.
