Evening Storm Clouds

Nothing fancy or professional but I wanted to share some pictures I took earlier of the storm clouds rolling into east TN/WNC. They looked really neat because of the difference from one side to the other like night and day.

There’s nothing more relaxing and good feeling to me than a good ol’ evening storm after a couple days of hot days. The rain just smells so good 😊

Heat wave advice?

As the title says, what advice do you all got for taking care of your plants in a heat wave?

It has been getting into the upper 80s and low 90s where I live this week and it’s happened kinda suddenly compared to the year so far. Idk if you’d call it an actual serious heat wave, but it feels like it to me here and probably to the poppies as well. I have started watering of the mornings as of today, they are already flowering and some dropped petals but I want to make sure with the heat that the ones still flowering have plenty to drink and for the pods to make seeds and swell. Any advice or suggestions to make sure they finish the year strong?

Good morning!

Woke up this morning to some flowers blooming out finally!! I’ve never ran out the back door right after getting up in my life lol I’ve been so excited to see them bloom! There are still plenty more to come soon, I’ll definitely keep yall updated!

What’s funny is these absolutely took off once they germinated, but the ones I tried in my flower pots with potting soil are still just leafy and haven’t even started growing vertically much yet. The ones blooming are just in a barren patch of the yard I cleared and threw some dirt on lol

Poppys in bloom on I26

Beautiful Flanders poppy’s blooming in North Carolina right past Mars Hill exit coming into Asheville via I26. Decided to take a little joy ride over the border in NC to check them out, they are absolutely gorgeous right now!
