My Fiancée Was in a Bad Crash and doesn’t want a second opinion

I AM NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE

I just want to make sure I’ve done my research properly and see if there’s any evidence for NOT getting a second opinion

The story:

On Oct 9th, 2025, my then Girlfriend was in a car accident that broke her femur in three places, her knee, and fractured her pelvis. On Nov. 22nd X-rays showed signs of healing, but she was in a wheelchair until her knee was able to bend past 120°. In January she was in a walker and was able to start putting weight on that broken leg and eventually moved to a cane that same month. On March 4th she was able to start practicing without use of the cane however on April 17th she got another X-Ray that showed that while the knee and pelvis have healed, her femur is still completely fractured. Meaning that all the weight bearing she has been doing has been on the rods that were implanted and not on actual bone.

Her surgeon recommended waiting until July 17th to come back for X-Rays after a nurse had recommended surgery.

I am no doctor but I’m worried about the possibility of a Nonunion Healing Fracture, and the side effects of that.

She says that she’s not in any pain, but she’s also telling me about how sore her leg is at the end of the day after work.

Im really really worried about my girl, and I don’t want there to be a major problem in the future, especially since in the X-rays the bones aren’t even touching

In research that I have done I have seen suggestions that an increase in blood-flow and nutrients would assist in healing, including but not limited to Calcium, Vitamin D3, and K2, as well as Proteolytic Enzymes to assist with nutrient distribution.

Not sure who to talk to.

I am assuming that she’s afraid that she will have to undergo surgery again and is hoping that the bone will just HEAL, and I’m hopeful for the same, but for some reason both her and her mother refuse to even hear me out on the possibility of getting a second opinion

Side note, am I wrong in thinking that the bones need to be touching to heal and that the actual bone re-fusing should have happened around the 3-month mark??
