Sandy River Springer Inquiry
Planning to visit Portland for work in the middle of June. Want to try to snag some Springers in the Sandy on the weekend. I am flying, and have already snagged my license. Since flying, I think I will pick up the Shakespeare Catch More Fish Salmon Spinning kit in town- https://www.sportsmans.com/fishing-gear-supplies/spinning-combos/shakespeare-catch-more-fish-salmon-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo-8ft-medium-heavy-power-2pc/p/1903066 and some roe/ sand shrimp.
I may get some heavier braided line and pick up a chair, knife, and net from Goodwill or so. Trying to keep costs pretty low, which is why I am avoiding getting a guide. I plan to donate pretty much everything back to Goodwill at the end of the weekend.
Open to any recommendations on setup, good spots, gear, or anything else that may help. Know the basics but open to learning new things. Thanks! 😄
