SCUF Omega not recognized properly on macOS / PS Remote Play (Thinks it's a 3rd-party generic input)
Has anyone actually managed to get a SCUF Omega working properly on a MacBook for native games or PS5 Remote Play?
I’m losing my mind trying to get mine to work. Whenever I connect it to my Mac:
Native games with controller support either don't recognize it at all.
PS5 Remote Play completely rejects it as a valid DualSense/Xbox controller, reading it instead as a random 3rd-party custom input device.
I've tried every connection method under the sun:
Bluetooth mode
Wireless via the USB dongle / Wi-Fi
Running games through steam,
I know people on Windows have found workarounds/fixes for this sort of driver/input mapping issue, and I've even built a working prototype of a fix myself. However, I hit a massive wall: I can't afford the $80–$90/year Apple Developer account fee just to get the necessary low-level system access/driver signing to implement it properly on macOS.
Is there actually something else I can do here? Are there existing open-source remapping tools, hidden macOS terminal settings, or alternative drivers that can force macOS to treat this thing like a proper Sony controller without needing a paid developer ID?
