Do you write inmates up often?

Personally the only time I write inmates up is it it’s major contraband a knife, a phone etc etc if it’s minor I’ll let you slide cause at the end of the day jail will be jail prison will be prison. Personally I like my style of work I’m not a pin and pad warrior. Wbu?

Inmate with a knife cell extraction proceeds to spit the fattest glob of spit ever in my face.

Crazy situation last night, we had a suicidal inmate who made a shank that was about 8-9 inches long. So we suit up bust up in his cell after gassing it, we get him on the ground ofc we’re fighting. My helmet and gas mask pops off in the cell so does my co worker. I stayed in as long as I could but eventually had to get out of there. However the inmate was in handcuffs by the time I left. We get him out of the cell to be decontaminated and this bitch spits the biggest loogie ever at me. I started to beat his ass but walked it off. Stay safe out there. I do feel bad about leaving my coworkers but shit I couldn’t breath in that cell

First day at a county jail last night. Boy it’s way worse than working in a prison.

These inmates in the county are insane bro. I came from Alabama department of corrections and it’s fucked up in Alabama as far as contraband. All the inmates had knives, cell phones, drugs etc etc. we had some crazy inmates but nothing like this county jail. Throwing piss and shit was unheard of where I worked in Alabama but here at the county mfs act like it’s just normal. One dude took a shit in his own food when I asked why he said he couldn’t make it to the toilet. Any tips would be appreciated.

Let’s say you got an inmate in a wheel chair who won’t lock down

What are you doing to get this inmate to lock down?

Had a scenario today where an inmate in a wheel chair wouldn’t lock down. Apparently we were supposed to just push him in his cell. I felt like we should just talk to him and see what’s going on, try to descalate this situation instead of just tossing him in his cell.

Corrections needs better standards for officers.

I’m sick and tired of these officers coming in, work a good month then they start calling out once a week. Im sick and tired of them hiring fat out of shape officers who can’t do shit in a use of force but spray and probably end up spraying me trying spray the inmate. I’ll rather you just stay out the way. I’m sick and tired of the “weak officers” getting the easy post because my supervisors just don’t want to deal with them so I get stuck working the worst of the worst everyday. What im absolutely most sick of are officers getting hired only to be walked out months later for smuggling shit in , putting my life in danger and my friends life in danger. This shit is a career not just a “job” you can lose your life in this field any day. Treat this job with respect , if you just need a job go work at Walmart. Sorry had to get that off my chest I’m fed up lmao but I ain’t quitting I love this shit!
