Here Lies 12 Panzer

Since there has been a slight uptick in 12 Panzer discourse with the imminent release of Nemesis 8, I felt a reminder was needed.

Edit: To be clear, I have nothing against anyone who was a fan of 12 Pzr. I just think it's time to move on for anyone still harboring a grudge against VTK or Eugen because it lost Nem 8.

What about the 105mm?

Really happy with the changes in today's patch overall but seeing many Pact 122mm going down to 3 availability made me wonder, why no similar change to some of Nato's 105mm? To be clear, I am not against the 122mm nerf, I like it because intermediate artillery like them were getting a little annoying but some 105mm are also a part of this trend so why was their availability not reduced as well?

I catalogued 1000 div picks in 10v10. How popular are your favorites?

Click through the pictures to see all the data with pretty graphs!

I was inspired by this post where u/Vincent64ify counted the number of times a division was picked over 33 10v10 games in 24 hours. I felt I could do something similar and organize the data in some interesting ways.

I did not include my own division choices in the data. My intention with this was to see what divs everyone else is picking and I did not want my favorites to be overrepresented in the data due to my choices. If I did include my choices, 1st UK and 20 MSD would be much higher. Since I excluded myself, that meant I was only counting 19 out of the 20 divisions in each match I played. In order to get to a nice even 1000 division choices I spectated a number of matches.

I only played/spectated and collected data from 10v10 lobbies that used standard maps and conquest settings whether it be normal, tactical, or C&C. The majority of games (85%+) were standard and not tactical or C&C. This data was collected on many different maps. It wasn't Cyrus or Airport 24/7. I tried to play or spectate at different times of day but most of these games happened in the morning or evening in the US. This data was gathered from June 7th to June 27th. Nemesis 7 came out June 3 so I started after the initial frenzy of the newest divisions died down but I believe Paris and Don-100 certainly benefitted from recency over the course of my cataloguing. I cannot claim that this shows the exact popularity of each division in 10v10 but it does give us an idea.

I am happy to say that each division was picked at least once. Nobody was left out in the cold. Fun fact, the division that remained at zero picks the longest was>!Jyske.!< Does that surprise you?

The last four slides show division popularity by faction if you don't want to see them combined.

TLDR: Ooo cool data.

Let me know what you think! I am especially curious about these questions below.
Also, check out my 10v10 guide!

  • Does this information reflect your experiences in 10v10?
  • Are there any divisions that are near the top that you feel are overrated?
  • Is there a division towards the bottom that isn't getting the attention it deserves?

I am sorry Brazilians, good luck in your match today. I just couldn't resist once I realized DDR has seven divisions currently.

The State of 10v10 after State of Emergency Nemesis

It has been some time since the release of the State of Emergency divisions and so I wanted to share my updated tier list for 10v10.

My tierlist is different from the the usual Tiermaker tier list. It divides divisions by where they tend to play the strongest depending on the terrain. Of course, some divisions can play in all areas well but I have put them where they perform the strongest generally. Divisions within the same box are roughly comparable but not necessarily equal. The tierlist is split between Nato and Pact to save space and improve readability.

"Subpar" and "difficult" do not mean the divisions are bad in 10v10. It means that they are generally more map and situation dependent since they lack many of the tools for success in 10v10 or are generally difficult to play in the game mode. You can have lots of success with these divisions and lots of fun but do not be surprised if you find yourself struggling.

The most impactful change recently besides the two new divisions has of course been the Shock trait buff. This has made the denser parts of 10v10 maps even more exclusive for close range specialists. If you lack good amounts of shock infantry and you are fighting at close range, you better hope your opponent lacks them too! I was curious if this change has made the airborne divisions such as 11e, 82nd, and 35y more viable in general but from my experiences and observations the shock buff is not enough to make up for their other downsides in this game mode. Still very fun divisions to play but make sure you stick to the densest parts of the map for the best chance of success.

The two new divisions continue to show up routinely in nearly every match I play even if it is only one or two in a game but they don't seem to be especially strong but neither are they weak. Don-100 can struggle to deal with heavy tanks but demolishes opponents in city fights. Paris is a bit more flexible and faster but very fragile. You need to be on top of your micro to make the most of it, especially with the MSC.

///

TLDR: Check out my tier list and let me know you think. I am especially curious for any thoughts and experiences with the two new divisions, Paris and Don-100. Is their placement on this tierlist accurate?

Also, check out my 10v10 guide!

What is an "airborne" division?

"Airborne" is a term used very flexibly within the community. There are three ways I've noticed people using it:

"Traditional" Airborne: A division that entirely jumps out of planes with air mobile support.

"Archetypal" Airborne: Divisions that grab ground quickly and try to hold onto it.

"Structural" Airborne: A division that has a sizable forward deploy contingent within it.

Everyone agrees that 11e, 35y, 76y, MNAD, and 82nd are airborne divisions since they jump out of planes.

But is 4 MSD airborne? Luftlande? Korpus? 6th US? TKS?

What does airborne mean to you in Warno?

T-62 Stocks Rising

From the Gospel of MadMatthew 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given; heatseek, and thine target shall be locked; kick down the door, and thine shock trait shall be activated."

Give blessings to Eugen for they have blessed us with an abundance of distinct and unique T-62 divisions.

All it took was a new Marine div...

Jokes aside, 4th Marines look cool and I am glad that it looks like most of the playerbase has something to be excited about with Tropic Storm. Looking forward to the future divs.

I can't believe Richard Garfield built a reference to federal judge and 1st commissioner of baseball, Kennesaw Mountain Landis. With such an integral card too!

Yet another sign of his incredibly learned mind. Bravo Richard, Bravo.

/uj Dude's life was absolutely wild. He was named after a Civil War battlefield and said/did some absolutely crazy things.

>On July 26, 1926, the Durham Bulls’ El Toro Park was dedicated. Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis, the first Commissioner of Baseball, stole the show that day by riding onto the field on the team mascot, a real bull.

/rj He was also known to produce fire whenever he was tapped.
