Hi friends! I am a seller and also work at a UPS store. Lately, many packages we send from the store and been getting charged as "irregular" and its triple the price the customer paid. Finally, months later, we got some answers. I wanted to share this so everyone shipping ups labels with mercari won't get charged afterwards.

The biggest change is the soft sided package column. It used to be 24 inch bags that would get charged. Now it is 18 inches on its longest side, or 14 inches on its second longest side.

For example:

You have a bag that measures 19x6x2

Or a bag that measures 16x13x4

A smalled bag that goes over 6 inches in height. 11x10x7

Both of these will get you charged after delivery. I did some testing in the shipping screen. A poly mailer measuring 20x9x5 was coming up to about $15.68 ground shipping. When I changed it to "irregular/non-rextangular packaging", it shot up to $66.95.

Also note poster tubes and large boxes (18 inches+) must be over 1 inch thick.

They are measuring with lasers and charging like crazy! Please put your item in a normal box if your bag goes over these measurements. Please dont lose all your profit to a shipping adjustment!
