Best eSIM for UK?

I'm traveling to London for 6 days, and I'm trying to figure out which eSIM to get. The apartment we're staying in doesn't have Wi-Fi (at least according to reviews), so I'll need a decent amount of data. Ideally around 20GB, although unlimited would be even better if there are any good options. I've looked at Saily and Airalo. Both seem like decent choices, but I see Airalo getting a lot of shit about their customer support. For those who have used an eSIM in the UK recently, which provider would you recommend? Maybe some of you have used Saily specifically, how well did it work there?

Been using Saily - thoughts on Web Protection

Been using Saily and wanted to share my thoughts on the Web Protection feature.

I've used it on a few trips now and it's done what I needed it to do. Never had any issues getting online after landing, and speeds were good enough for maps, messaging, browsing, and streaming.

One thing I was curious about was the Ad Blocker + Web Protection feature. While researching Saily, I saw someone mention that enabling it adds around ~20ms of latency. Out of curiosity, I ran a few quick ping tests with it enabled and disabled, and the difference was roughly in that range.

That said, I honestly couldn't notice any difference in normal use. An extra 20ms is just 0.02 seconds, which is basically imperceptible for browsing, social media, emails, maps, or streaming.

I've actually left it enabled because it seems like a pretty good tradeoff. It blocks a lot of ads and trackers, helps avoid malicious websites, and adds an extra layer of protection when using hotel, airport, café, or other public Wi-Fi networks while traveling. Since I'm already using the eSIM, having those features built in without needing separate apps is a nice bonus.

Unless you're doing something very latency-sensitive like competitive gaming, I don't think most eSIM users would ever notice the extra latency. For me, the added protection is worth far more than an extra 0.02 seconds.

iSharing vs HeyPolo - anyone here use either of them?

Me and my girlfriend started sharing locations recently mostly because she gets home late sometimes and it’s just easier for coordinating stuff.

We tried iSharing first because it was one of the first apps that came up when searching for family locator apps. Honestly, the app worked pretty well. Location updates were accurate, notifications came through fast, and it has a ton of features.

But after using it for a few days it started feeling a little… intense?

Like you can constantly see battery %, movement, driving activity, location history, everything. I get why parents would want that, but for two adults it almost felt like too much information sometimes.

Then I saw someone in a post mention HeyPolo and decided to test it.

Completely different feel.

It feels more privacy-focused and less like a tracking app. The temporary sharing thing was actually really nice and overall it just felt less invasive to use. The app itself also feels way more modern compared to iSharing.

That said, iSharing definitely has more hardcore safety features. If you want full-on family tracking, driving reports, detailed alerts, etc., it’s probably the better app.

But for everyday use with a partner/friends, I think I actually preferred HeyPolo.

Curious what your experiences with iSharing vs HeyPolo have been, or if you use some other location sharing app instead.
