Early voting for the NY-07 congressional primary begins a month from tomorrow, on June 13. I get the sense that the race between Claire Valdez and Antonio Reynoso is close, and that many people do not even realize there is a primary happening.
I think we need to see the NYC Socialists in Office rally around Claire Valdez, get the word out to their constituents about the primary, and actively persuade people to vote for her.
Of the SIOs whose districts overlap with NY-07, Diana Moreno, Emily Gallagher, Phara Souffrant Forrest, Chi Ossé, and Jabari Brisport have all endorsed Valdez.
The only two who have not, as far as I can tell, are Julia Salazar and Kristen Gonzalez. Does anyone know why?
It feels like there needs to be a unified push over the next few weeks to show solidarity, raise the urgency around this race, and mobilize support for Claire before early voting begins.
