Denied Avios upgrade. This system is archaic.
First of all, the process for Avios upgrades is absolutely ridiculous. WHY isn't this option built into the app UI? Why am I sending emails and praying for a response? So utterly ridiculous. I have the points in my account, show me which flights I can utilize them for in the app. FFS it's 2026 and this is not a budget airline!!!!
I called, was told there was rewards availability with no one on the waitlist. Booked my flight & emailed for an upgrade. Got a quick response for "we submitted you". Waited two whole weeks. My return flight got approved, but my outbound got denied. Ok. I change my flight and try again. Denied.
There's no option to even upgrade with cash on the app!!!! WHY!?
Also has anyone ever been denied and tried again and gotten the approval? I save my points for this all year for this.
