Thoughts if I should keep the bunk bed to maximize vertical storage?

Current pros-

- Vertical shelving available

- Under-the-bed nook (not being utilized atm)

- Wouldn't need to buy new bedframe or shelving

Cons of bunk bed-

- Impossible to move around for rearranging the space

- Kids sized, and I'm not a kid anymore; bed is tight to sleep in and desk isn't large enough for me to use

- Not sure if it's fitting my vibes anymore

Thoughts are greatly appreciated since this seems to be my greatest hurdle for redoing my room! I'm ready for change and hate the plain, colorless look.

Other input for laying out the space is welcome (I'm really wanting more usable surface area for things like plants, books, etc - maybe pulling the dresser out from under the bed once the mini-fridge is taken away?)

How do I make this not feel like a kids bedroom? Should I keep the bunk bed?

Hi, I've moved back into my bedroom after graduating university and desperately want to rearrange. It's always felt so plain to me and I hate the lack of usable surface area for things like plants, books, and so on. My main gripe is the bunk bed, which I've had since I was very young and I'm now an adult (22... much too old to be in a bunk bed at this point).

My cons for the bunk bed is that it's impossible to move around the room, I've outgrown the bed itself, and the frame is kids size and therefore not big enough for me to properly utilize (such as the desk space or underneath the bed). But the pros are that the vertical space is there to store things out of sight, and keeping the bunk bed would prevent me from buying a new bedframe, mattress, etc.

I'm itching to make my room feel like my own again and need some outside perspectives. Everything I've looked up inspiration-wise for bunk beds has been for young kids or is in a much larger room than I have. Any advice is appreciated!!
