Went back to one of our favourite sushi spots (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) the takoyaki was extra good today (and I stole some tofu from Damien hehe)

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and wanted to write a little think piece, I’m not great at this stuff so I hope it makes sense (ó﹏ò｡)

It’s clear Damien has some self-esteem issues, especially in regard to his “not goth” side but why is it such a big deal to him? Wouldn’t most people love a guy who spends his spare time taking care of animals?

I think it makes a lot of sense and my personal interpretation of his third date and views on himself to be like an allegory for his identity as a trans man. He hides this part of himself and only shows what he thinks other people want him to be. He makes himself more palatable to cis people and truly believes if people were to see the parts of himself he doesn’t want others to see, he wouldn’t be worth respecting.

It’s quite dramatic that he thinks working in IT and doing volunteer work means the player won’t like him anymore and immediately jumps to the conclusion that any sort of connection they shared is now gone but it makes so much more sense when you think of it as being used as a way to discuss the struggles he’d have in a cisnormative society, especially when trans men’s issues are downplayed and not taken seriously.

So, when the player expresses that they don’t view him any differently and how I read it as a trans man myself, “then maybe… we can be boring together?” He’s saying “let’s just be us, let us be our truest selves together, regardless of what other people want and how they view us.”

That’s why it holds so much meaning to me as a trans man. It might not seem that deep on the surface but the way I interpreted it changed the low self-esteem and negative views I had towards my identity. Damien genuinely stopped me from continuing down a road of self hatred so yes,

Let’s be boring together, forever ♡

The lace I was waiting on finally arrived so I upgraded my a3 sized bag! (Last pic is how it looked before).

Every badge was handmade by me to replicate a repeat ita bag (with a slight difference since each row is a different sprite).

It’s a little uneven since I pinned everything myself too but ehhh it was really difficult to get them all perfect, I’m wondering if I could still use the badge sheet and cut holes in the fabric where each hook is? And I love this bag but it is a pain how slim the pocket is, I had to fix the lace with a ruler after putting it in because it got messed up. But if anyone has better ideas on how to work with zakkamart bags, please lmk!!

I did get a smaller bag recently for all my other Damien badges so I’m looking forward to working on that soon too!
