Bayern Munich 93/95 Home from CCSTY
This one surprised me. I thought that the blue diagonal bands would be screen printed, but they’re made out of fabric and sewn on the jersey.
Between them, we have the Opel sponsor, and the Adidas logo and Bayern’s crest, which are all made out of felt and heat pressed on the jersey. What stands out is that they all have a different feel than the other 2. The sponsor has a more velvety feel, soft, and is the kind of felt where threads and lint get stuck, while Adidas logo is harder and thicker. Both have a texture to them, while the crest is just a flat and smooth piece.
On the back everything looks aligned and printed right. My pick for Matthäus name set, is not only due to his legendary status, but also because it was his best season for Bayern, where he had his name on the jerseys. His first stint at Bayern, they weren’t using the player's name, and when he returned, this was his best season in numbers.
As for the fit, I always recommend going up 1 size for 90s retros, because jerseys were far boxier at that time, and most retro reps follow the same cut as a modern fan version. So going 1 size up gives you a little bit roomier fit and not a slim one. If you want them as wide as the originals, you may need to go 2 sizes or even 3, but it also comes with the trade-off of the jersey being longer.
The v-neck is actually excellent on this rep. It perfectly follows around the neck without any extra space, and the v-neck ends at the exact point it’s supposed, and it’s made out of an elastic band. No deep neck like in some modern kits.
Ordered this one from CCSTY’s website at the end of April. I had made some orders with them in the past when they were called CUSJY, but they recently changed their name.
I got the quality control photos on May 7th, which I shared them on here, and it was sent out shortly after.
It arrived in Europe on May 18th.
