Need Modding Advice for a 5.5G Fat Back (Collection pic for attention!)
Hey everyone! As you can see from my collection photo, I’ve been hoarding iPods forever, but now I want to mod a 5th generation I have laying around.
I have a 5.5G 60GB model (A1136) fat back that I want to completely overhaul. My goal is to build something reliable without breaking the bank.
Here is what I’m looking to replace:
* Battery
* Storage: Flash mod
* Case: Swap the housing for a clear/transparent case.
* USB-C: I'd love to do a USB-C mod, but only if there is a relatively cheap, budget friendly way to go about it. (Is it possible to sync through USB-C or only just to charge?)
Since I already have the fat backplate, I know I have a bit more room to work with inside. Can anyone recommend the most cost-effective but still reliable parts (and vendors) to get all this done?
