I’ll edit this and my last post or so beforehand with sign in details. I’m going to give the dedicated server one more troubleshoot before I give up. If I get it working, it’ll be that, if not, we’ll do P2P and hope the frame rate doesn’t crater to complete unusability.

I’ll be doing exotics shipments throughout the giveaway, and I hope to have the mounts already down and set up this time.

Hey folks, it's time for another giveaway! This time I'll be adding P6 and P7 Alpha Dune Raptors to go along with surplus stock of P2, P6 and P7 Alpha Geo Raptors and all Phenos of Slinkers (mostly alpha, some Timid options). All offerings are 0 Vigor Pacmans, most will be leveled at least into the 30s with no skill points spent so you can build as you choose.

I managed to bork the dedicated server, so this might be a bit hairier for connection/framerate since I'll be doing this P2P unless someone's able to help me troubleshoot. As with last time, I plan to send up exotics at 1030, 11, 1130, and midnight. A lot fewer reds this time, but I expect to have well over 1000 purples and a couple hundred greens. I'll either update this post with server details if I get the dedicated server working, or with my SteamID if I don't. I'll likely make a post earlier the day-of as well, since I've had a few people respond to the last one after the fact, sad that they missed it.

I'll also throw in a plug for Tala's discord, posted earlier today. I've already picked up a wolf for my own breeding and contributed a half dozen mounts. It's very nicely automated and has a fair number of contributing breeders already. And speaking of which, wolves are next on my giveaway list, hopefully ready by the weekend or Monday.

Hey, wanted to thank everyone who came out today, we had a great time at today’s giveaway.

Some numbers: About a dozen people came through, with somewhere between 40 and 60 mounts finding new homes. We sent up over 1500 exotics plus a couple hundred reds and greens at intervals throughout, which everyone logged in received. All eight slots filled up quickly but things petered out in the second hour. I can’t tell you how many animals I’ve bred over the course of the last few weeks, but I can tell you’ve I’ve had to repair my butcher knife eight times, which means I’ve killed about 200 mounts. This is a pretty infrequent occurrence, as once the process is industrialized with all identical mounts, they become extremely consistent. So, probably well north of 1000, possibly 2000.

The day was made even better by /u/Euphoric-Divide-2437 posting a wolf giveaway that I saw while we were winding down in mine, so a few of us headed over there right after and picked up some excellent breeding stock. We doubly have him to thank for today, as he was the original source a week or two ago for my first breeding pairs for my giveaway.

I’ve got some ideas after seeing how everything played out, to hopefully streamline things for the next one, and maybe to even plan a server for unneeded animal stock that can be a place for people to drop off and pick up mounts, which I could have run at certain times throughout the week and wouldn’t require me to be there.

I should have Dune Raptors 6 and 7 available later this week, and wolves over the weekend. I’ll post about those a day or two ahead of when I decide to do them. I’m aiming for Wednesday or Thursday evening EST but would be curious if people would prefer a later time, so leave a comment if you’d like to come and have a preference.

If there’s someone who knows a good bit about the dedicated server’s capabilities, I’d like to pick their brain to learn what’s possible now that I’ve at least got it running.

Well folks, it took five hours and trying three different methods and going through multiple troubleshooting videos and guides, but everything is set for the giveaway. I'll be posting the server info here - [and on my last post](https://www.reddit.com/r/ICARUS/comments/1tdy5kq/community\_giveaway\_this\_sunday) - a half hour or so before the event begins.

I want to give a big thanks to u/kaiserdrb for his Icarus Dedicated Server Manager software which ultimately was the method that worked, and which was very straightforward.

Looking forward to meeting some new people and getting everyone riding fresh!

My Slinker breeding operation is just about finished and practically runs itself at this point, so I’d like to put it to work for the community and offer custom orders to the sub. We’ll start small and see how it goes.

My goal is to take the first dozen requests made in the next 24 hours and meet them by 3 PM EST on Monday (48 hours from now).

All phenotypes available.
Select bloodlines available: Alpha, Timid, Stout. Anything else, I’ll try to meet but can’t guarantee.

I’m not going to put a limit on requests per person, just know that I’ll take other people’s first and second requests before I start filling third and later ones.

If this goes well, I’ll be back to do the same for geo raptors in about a week.

EDIT: I’ve began contacting those who’ve made requests. It took a minute to scale up operations, then I discovered I have a food bottleneck for the babies, and then like five generations all matured at the same time.

Has anyone else noticed a huge uptick in mounts set to “follow” getting stuck and not teleporting to you in the last week or so? I know it’s not uncommon for mounts to die from fall damage from repeated teleportations, but this makes traveling with a posse kind of a pain.
