some facts about my human AU Amethyst
I want to tell you a little bit about my Ame (pronounced like the word "aim")!
(I'm actually not sure if it's okay to post about my human AU here, but I'll give it a try)
Sorry for any grammatical mistakes in advance!
— Ame is North American with Mexican roots. Spanish, which she heard from her family throughout her childhood, sometimes slips into her speech, especially when she's emotional or caught off guard. "NOOOO, MI TORTAAA!!!!"
— Ame has an older sister, Jass. They have different fathers, but they're surprisingly similar in many ways, no matter how much they'd hate to admit it. During their teenage years, they fought a lot. They don't talk anymore, but I'm planning to give them a reconciliation arc, kinda smth Amethyst and Jasper did in Steven Universe.
— Ame isn't her full name. Her given name is Amelia, but she never uses it. She says Ame sounds much cooler and sassier. (Her sister's name is shortened too (for the same reason, lol), her full name is Jasmine).
— As a teenager, Ame played the drums. Most of her friends were older than her — Greg and Vidalia, who also played instruments and had casual lifestyle. Ame is still close with Greg; they're the kind of friends whose bond survived the test of time. Vidalia isn't really part of their group anymore, though. Not because they had a falling out, but because life happened: marriage, kids, then divorce... you know.
— Her job is kinda ironic. Greg owns a tattoo studio, and through him she eventually became a piercer... despite being absolutely terrified of needles and physical pain.
— She's passionate about street dance, probably more than she'd like to admit.
— As a gem, she loves shapeshifting. As a human, she's really good at parodying people. She could probably become a stand-up comedian or smth if she wanted to, lol.
