SUB Surgery

SUB Surgery

Our poor girl (9) was just diagnosed with bilateral ureteral obstruction. They aren’t quite sure what it is causing the blockage as it does not appear to be a stone or mass/tumor based on the x-rays performed. They are suspecting that it could be blood clots causing the blocks and she is seeing a cardiologist in the morning for an echo. Regardless, we’ve been told our only/best option is bilateral sibcutaneous ureteral bypass surgery (SUB)… I have seen a lot of success stories on this sub which has given me some hope but I still feel so uneasy that they still dont know what is actually causing the blockage. I don’t want to put our poor girl through all of this only for it turn out that the SUB doesn’t solve anything for her. Send support for our girl, we just got done visiting her in the ICU, and is likely having surgery tomorrow after the cardiologist completes their exam.
