In the ideal Arthurian depiction, what should be the powers of Merlin?

There's a lot of variety to how Merlin is depicted. I'm curious to hear what powers people think he should have.

I think his signature power is his ability to make prophecies. I particularly like the depiction of this ability in the Mary Stewart novels. He can't fully control this ability. But, on rare special occasions, flashes of insight come to him. In contrast, I don't love TH White's idea that he ages backwards. Its an interesting concept, but I don't think he should know everything about the future.

Speaking of TH White, in my ideal depiction, I would keep the stories of Merlin teaching life lessons to young Arthur. I think its become iconic that Merlin teaches Arthur about life by turning him into various animals. But, I think these animal experiences should be illusions. I don't think Merlin should literally be able to turn anyone into a fish or a bird. That would make him too powerful.

Of course, he famously is able to alter the appearance of Uther Pendragon. So, I would say he should definitely have powers of illusion.

I don't think Merlin should be a high fantasy D&D wizard casting fireballs and shooting lightning bolts. I think his abilities should be more subtle. In some ways, I imagine him resembling Gandalf the Gray. I think he should be incredibly insightful and possess knowledge of the hidden mystical secrets of the world. But, his role should largely be to guide Arthur and the various knights. I don't imagine Merlin on the front lines of battles.

At the same time, I don't want a completely non-magical Merlin. I don't want Mark Twain's conman Merlin. I think he should have some magical abilities. I just think they should be subtle.

What are your thoughts? In your ideal depiction, what are the abilities of Merlin?

If you lose access to your email account, is it impossible to cancel your ChatGPT account?

I logged out of my ChatGPT account. When I tried to log in, it said it would send me a verification email. I cannot access the email address linked to my account. So, I cannot receive verification emails. I previously tried to change my email address, but it wouldn't let me.

Every method of deleting my account requires me to receive a verification email. I went to help.openai.com and requested manual review. I received a response that my issue has been escalated to a support specialist who will email me...

If I wasn't paying a subscription, I wouldn't care. But, I'm being charged monthly, and there is seemingly no way to stop it.

So, if you lose access to your email address, is it impossible to cancel your subscription? Is my only option to cancel my credit card?

My Outlook email does not receive verification emails from a variety of businesses.

My personal email address is with Outlook.com. My email address is FirstName.LastName@Outlook.com. For years, I have been having a problem with this email address. I don't receive certain types of emails.

In general, I'm unable to receive account verification emails, password reset emails, and similar things. Also, someone I know once tried to email me from the ProtonMail account, and it didn't work.

I don't know what's causing this. This email address does receive some emails. But, for whatever reason, a subset of emails never show up in my inbox. I've tried checking junk mail and archived mail. I made sure that no email address is blocked, and I've disabled all rules.

In general, I don't use this email address anymore. But, I did sign up for some older accounts with this email address. At the moment, I am unable to access something because I'm not receiving a verification email.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Why is a subset of emails not showing up in my outlook email?

[Adventure Time] How strong is Finn?

I'm not sure how to interpret Finn. Is he superhuman? Or, is he supposed to have the physical abilities of a somewhat realistic teenage boy?

The residents of the Candy Kingdom certainly think he's pretty tough. But, they're made of candy. An ordinary person may seem quite strong from their perspective.

Finn and Jake do sometimes go on adventures that are genuinely dangerous. But, I get the impression that Jake is the real powerhouse of the team. They survive many of their encounters thanks to him.

Plus, we see a number of occasions in which Finn is badly injured. It gives the impression that Finn overestimates his abilities. He seems like an enthusiastic kid who is superhuman compared to the largely weak residents of Ooo. But, when real danger emerges, Jake is there to save the day.

Then again, Finn and Jake do sometimes face genuinely terrifying situations. Could Finn really survive all of these encounters without being superhuman himself?

Also, over the course of their adventures, Finn encounters a number of magical swords. Do these swords make him superhuman? Or, is he just a physically fit and enthusiastic teenage boy with magic swords and a super strong dog?

What do you think? Is Finn superhuman?
