ROG Strix G16 vs Zephyrus G16 – Which one should I get for my use case?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently torn between the ROG Strix G16 and ROG Zephyrus G16, and I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with these laptops.

Here’s my use case:

  • I mainly use AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software.
  • already have a desktop PC at home and at work, so the laptop will mainly be used when I go to construction sites for meetings and basic/on-site work.
  • When I go back to my hometown, I'll use it for gaming (CSGO, PUBG, etc.). Sometimes I'll connect it to a 25.6-inch external monitor for gaming. Gaming would be around 2 hours per day, while work-related use could be around 8 hours per day.
  • Whenever I go back to my hometown, I'll typically use the laptop continuously for around 5–7 days.
  • Normally, when I'm in City, I mainly use my desktop PC for work, gaming, etc., so the laptop will mostly sit unused.

There are two things I'm particularly concerned about:

  • Heat/thermals and whether high temperatures could affect the laptop's long-term hardware lifespan. any happen on this
  • The OLED display on the Zephyrus G16 — if something goes wrong with it, I'm worried that the repair/replacement cost could be quite high.

I really like the smaller and more compact design of the Zephyrus G16, but I'm concerned about its thermals and whether the heat could have a significant impact on the hardware over time.

For those of you who have owned or used either of these models, which one would you recommend for my use case, and why?

Budget: 3500
Country: Vietnam
Use Case: Working, little bit gaming
Preferred Specs: GPU 4060, CPU Ryzen, RAM 32, storage 1TB
Notes: but anything price not important, just suitable for me

Thanks a lot for your advice!
