For those that were asking…as far as I can tell the ProMags are good to go (survey of two 🤦♂️). I have not cleaned the TX22 in the past 3k rounds. Tonight I was testing federal 38 open tip. I have had the best luck with Aquila 38’s so far.
Was going to run under nods and go through around 1k rounds tonight but wasn’t able to (big sad).
For those of you wondering how thermals work with different back drops/detection through brush:
Truck is spotted around 100 meters away (on board audio doesn’t pick up sound until around 50 meters away).
Field mice found from scanning, movement picked up at around 40 meters from us. (Sorry for shaky video, son was on my shoulders using nods at the same time)
I’m guessing bat in sky is around 200-300 meters from us, hard to judge that distance.

I don’t mind putting money into certain parts of the set up. But I’m a family man and can’t totally scrap the kids 529’s.
The earpro set up saved me tons of money (got an extra TX22 for the cost of peltors). SMSlaser and various knock off products (Bifrost gear, promag, amazon mounts and chinesium) have allowed me to put more money where I want it: TW bump, RH25 and gen3 WP PVS14.
Been in the gun game since 2008. I have had more fun these past two years than prior years due to baller after baller product drops, gear deals, Supreme Court decisions and ATF rebuttals. #Merica
Nothing beats the mating call of the TX22 at night…brrrrrraaattttt
PS- it also helps that this is like $5 in ammo, ya know, to help offset the cost of Nods 🤣
