Finance Manager tried to sign documents for us

Had a weird experience this week. I bought a new Bolt, negotiating the price before going in, (https://redd.it/1tjyf4k) and when we got to the finance office they had a tabletop signing screen. After turning down the extended services and signing the small box to store our signatures, the finance manager took the pens and said you don't need that anymore.

Then he started to quickly say what each document was and began to click sign! I stopped him and asked him to slow down and not sign for me. There wasn't anything nefarious that I was able to see, so I guess he was just ready to move on to the next customer, but he did say he does that for everyone and his arm gets tired on busy days.

Is it even a valid contract if someone is pressing sign on each page for you? Not sure how you would prove it, of course, but seems shady.

2027 Bolt LT May Purchase Report - $6750 off

Wanted to give back after others have done the same. I saw the deals going on in Texas and was curious if it was real. I figured Texas was getting some kind of volume holdback, since they had 20+ units, but I worked with an instate dealer who only had a couple of units in stock.

For context, I owned a 2017 bolt before and loved it before getting an EV6. I saw the prices on Chevy's site with 5-6k discounts and my interest was piqued. We didn't need another car right now, but we were looking to get another ev eventually. I saw EUVs on carmax/carvana and a local bz4x for around $23k with 30k miles.

I submitted a request to a local dealer online who was not advertising any discounts, salesman called me first thing in the morning and told me it was going to be MSRP + add ons. I mentioned the Texas prices being advertised and he said that Texas were some liars. I said, well, I don't need to buy this - and if I did it doesn't make sense to pay MSRP for a bolt when there's incentives on the equinox. You're the first one I talked to and I wanted to keep my business local, but I guess I'll go find out if Texas is lying or not and get back to you.

Ten minutes later, Sales manager texts me with an offer for 5k off "TODAY ONLY". I waited until after 5pm and I responded if they removed the pro pack add-on they had a deal, and while I couldn't make it today I would give them a deposit and be there the next day.

Went the next day and picked it up. GM Financial is offering way better interest rates than I could have gotten on a used vehicle. Finance manager tried to sell the extended warranties, but I gave my repeated nos and we closed the deal. No surprises other than I found the dealer add-ons are still on the car - edge guards and blinking third brake light (that I didn't know/want).

I believe I could have gotten more off, but I was happy to not keep going back and forth. I hardly saw any base LTs without the $200 charging adapters, which I already own from my other car, so I value the mats in this one with that "discount" in mind. They're decent mats, too.

Comfort package I could go without to save another $1k, but it's a nice to have especially with the auto-dim mirror.

My advice: If they know you're serious, and you're willing to walk, you can find a great deal. Someone else has paperwork showing 8.5k off a base RS in this sub.

Don't let them charge you for add-ons or extended warranties, even if "they're already installed". It costs them nothing for the add-ons and the warranty is not needed. If you want one, buy it third party. Keep smiling and saying no thank you as they discount it three times trying to get you to pay thousands extra.

As for carplay. I had it, I loved it, I think GM is awful for taking it away, but for this price.. I'll deal without it for driving around town.
